The Toronto Raptors have hovered around .500 all season. After a loss in Orlando on Friday, Toronto is 13-13 on the season. That underwhelming start has rival front office executives watching to see what Masai Ujiri will do with this underachieving bunch. Ujiri is known for taking big swings when things aren’t going how he wants on the floor. Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr. both have player options for next season that they are expected to opt out of. If one, or both, aren’t seen as part of the future, Ujiri could choose to get aggressive on the trade market. The Raptors are also expected to evaluate the long-term viability of Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby and Scottie Barnes playing together. All three are similarly sized, long-armed players, but there are questions about the floor spacing when all three are in the same lineup. – Zach Lowe/ESPN

They do have to move passed shorter guards. They like FVV a lot but eventually you have to move from him. it doesn't have to be right now but who do you replace him with? Some of the blame is on Nick Nurse as well.
Trent jr is as good as gone.
They need to surround Pascal with shooters. Scottie seems complete uninterested in playing basketball.
OG and Pascal are the core of this team right now.
If you 1 game out of 5th in east and
If you 2 game out of 4th in east and
If you 3 game out of 3th in east , Blowing up sounds kinda premature.
Masai doesnt make rash moves. How is the same NBA executives peddling this B.S, don't know that?

I see o.g moved to the blazers
They always want what Toronto has. They are struggling right now and thereβs many factors why. Injuries and player returning from injuries, individual players not playing to their best. Give this time. Masai ainβt stupid. He even stated last week on a raptors post game show that the team is still growing.
U-jerry ujiri
All the struggles r pecking order issues and lack of a true Center
They're struggling right now but all struggle periods end too. There's no reason to blow this team up, they just started this rebuild, Boston went through the same thing a few years ago the season after they drafted Tatum. The team will get better, they might need to make a trade or two but there's no reason to blow it up.
NO ONE BREAKING THE TEAM UP, TRADE IS COMING AND IT AINT SIAKAM, OG, BARNES FOR SURE.
Didn't they say Durant would have been traded in a package for Scottie not too long ago? Lol
No way you just said Freddy for Conley..
What about 2 picks for Poetl then Fred + Gary + Picks for SGA. We play Scottie as a PG and then maybe pick up a good 3 point shooter like Seth Curry?
I think you raptors fans are a little too emotional about this. You guys are forgetting this is a historic draft class coming up and you guys should grab any lottery picks you can. This team is not beating the Bucks and would struggle against several other teams. You have a jewel in Barnes and a nice piece in Trent. Trade the rest and youβre looking at it a big 3 next year
Tbf I think they started at something like 17-17 last season too. Soo idk how this will play out. Plus fred and scottie clearly aren't 100% healthy. And Pascal missed 10 games. Nothing has been stable that could continue or change idk.
absolutely not no. the only trade i can really see is trent jr. We are not gonna sell low freddy. hes one year removed from an allstar game. look when pascal was struggling we didnt sell him low. FVV got stuff to figure out. i love a turner trade tho i think his contract is up at the end of this season
i think turner would be a huge addition. i believe freddy will figure it out. a lineup of Freddy, OG, Scottie, Siakam, and Turner?? like cmon thats so deadly. trent would fit the pacers timeline better too. i think we would have to throw in a first or two tho
Pascal is at his top value. I don't want to pay this man a max contract next year. Freddy at all time low value. Package both get valuable growth players back to play around Scottie. Ans get rid of may re signing issues. Fall a few spots in the standing and take the 6rh pick next year
In Masai we trust. Masai has proven himself to be the best president in the league. The dude is a genius. The one trade of his I totally disagree with was getting rid of JV. Thinking about JV on this current Raptors team gives me the chills. I would love to still see him in a Raptors jersey. Personally, I think Gary Trent would be first on the chopping block if a trade was made. Yes, he's a young player who is still developing. But his effort hasn't been there consistently this year. I've watched multiple games where he cost them the game by taking horrible shots all game instead of passing to a wide open man. I can't remember who they were playing one game, but they were up by like 20 going into the half. Gary came out into the 3rd, and started shooting like he was Steph Curry. But he missed EVERY SHOT!!! It caused the other team to get alot of rebounds and transition points, ultimately causing the Raptors to lose the game. He also seems to have given up on defense for most of the season so far.
Do you kno how old conoly is? π
One person Trae we need to capitalize on now is Fred VanVleet must be traded the team play better without him on the floor.
