Marcus Thompson: “Shot selection is important, especially when you’re struggling. Jordan isn’t taking what the defense gives him. Again, the easy midrange jumper is wide open. Get to the FT line area and pull.”

He’s trying too hard to be Steph Curry when really he should be trying to play more like CJ McCollum

most of his shots have an unnecessary degree on difficulty on them, team needs to sit down and have a meeting with him

Dude got blocked on a dunk attempt when he could’ve taken an easy wide open floater

this is what I’ve been saying. he’s taking Steph Curry shots but he doesn’t have the shooting touch of a Steph Curry. Then instead of taking a Chris Paul type middy he goes for like a Kobe type shot or dribbles like he is Kyrie then slips, carry, travel or just badly missed s shot.

He gotta slow down sometimes too.

In short play smarter, it’s a long game try to read what the defense is doing and then once figured out then attack with more force.

This is an era where everyone are saying that midrange shot is an inefficient shot however, if your 3s are not working, Poole should be able to have a fallback option like a decent midrange to continue scoring. Just look at klay, steph, kd, kawhi etc. They all have decent to great midrange shot so you wont be able to completely shut them off.

  6. He needs to get to his hot spots and create space for himself. His playstyle is erratic as hell and his basketball IQ is looking really low right now. You’re getting paid way too much to depend on “streaky shooting”, time to find your dependable spots and exploiting defensive match-ups.

I’ve been saying it over and over, his dumbass thinks it’s either 3 or rim and forgets about the mid range, so when the other team has good shot blockers and his 3 isn’t falling, he’s just a broken record. This is even more frustrating because last season he literally acknowledged this exact issue and in games when this happened, he would use the mid range to work himself back into the 3 which then opened up driving lanes. There was one game where nothing was working and he went off on assists instead. This season it seems like he’s dead set on being rookie season hero ball zero bbiq Jordan Poole

He should go watch tape pf CJ from portland, the middy and floater is there every time, no need to drive to the cup and get swallowed by trees.

and man, his mid range is honestly amazing (or at least it was last season when he used it). Basically automatic
