The Portland Trail Blazers beat the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night 128-112 for their third straight win and fourth victory in five games. The victory kicked off six game road trip with a mostly comfortable win thanks to 37 points from Damian Lillard.
Mostly comfortable because the Blazers saw their 19-point third quarter lead dwindle down to four late in the third before Lillard righted the ship and helped the Blazers hold off the Spurs for the double-digit victory. Lillard is good and he is on pace to become the Blazers all-time leading scorer perhaps over the weekend.
How about some meaningless stats: The Blazers are 7-3 when Josh Hart attempts three 3-pointers and Portland is 8-4 when Shaedon Sharpe scores in double figures. Those are true, but maybe not exactly meaningful. But they’re useful ways to consider some key parts of two crucial role players.
