SAS is basically paid for being out of touch. This is sort of a reverse jinx, I forsee a 10-game winning streak coming out of nowhere just because of this. I was bracing myself for a shit season but now I feel great.
I don’t really care what SAS says, but everyone knows this. It’s not really a secret, that out roster is bad. Even our owner and GM probably know this. The problem is we can’t really do much right now and when we make a move it has to be the right one.
I know Cuban is always saying we like our players, we have a good team,…but that doesn’t mean he really thinks that. It’s just PR. He was also saying we’ll keep KP last year…
You just have to look at the age of most of our players to see how shitty the roster is constructed. You have a 23 year old superstar and surround him with +30 year olds? Thats so fucking dumb. Lukas best years will start in 2-3 seasons. By then you should have a core, that can play together for the next decade. Not a bunch of guys, that will be out of the league soon. Its so obvious. Just frustrating to be a Mavs fan right now.
We have to get younger and do a Mini-Tank just for this season. There is no way around that. We would be in a way better position, if we get a lottery pick this year and reshuffle the roster with some young dudes.

We know what the game plan is. Wait until 2024 free agency when we actually have capspace and go after the top tier free agents. We aren’t trying to make another KP mistake and trade even more of our draft pick for a subpar number 2 option. Look around what players are worth our 2024 and 2025 picks currently? Non that are all stars. That has been well documented since this summer.
We may make make minor trades but don’t get your hopes up for anything substantial. If this team overachieves like it did last season so be it. However we shouldn’t raise our expectations for this team until 2024. For the people saying we can’t bring in free agents yea when couldn’t bring in players during Dirk’s tail end of his career( of which many high profile players at the time said they were worried about playing with an older Dirk) or when we had no capsize during the entirety of Luka career.
2024 is the first time we will have max capspace.
