I don’t think we are trading IQ. I think the Lakers and other teams want IQ.
He's a bench player that will need a new contract and we are far from being a contender so yes for the right price you absolutely can move him.
I can’t believe how many negatives are said about OBI, quick and the rest of the young kids but RJ get every excuse in the books for his inconsistency and poor performances. If quick is who he is then so is RJ.
Personally I think what IQ does defensively is something this team values. His numbers on that end have been outstanding. I too wish his shooting came along but he's should be a reasonable contract when it's time to pay him and that could be valuable as trade piece or just simply build with.
Reddish hasn't been great on defensive end. The issue is people see him make these incredible one on one moves and rave about it. However if you really pay attention he's constantly losing his man in rotation. His career defensive rating is around 120 (awful). He has improved but his inconsistent nature really hurts us when he's off
I'm with Gaivn I'm not necessarily in a rush to trade anyone especially if giving up an asset is involved.
There's not one player on the Knicks who should be viewed as untouchable. The problem with trading IQ now is that you'd have to make-up the scoring punch he provides for the 2nd unit. Deuce hasn't shown he's capable of doing that so far, so does one of the benched players get back into the rotation?

They arent ready to take a step so trade away a rising young player that wants to be there and has an insane work ethic for basically nothing
Alex, your assessment of IQ is exactly what RJ is and yet we paid him a huge bag 💰. At this point IQ is the better player if given the mins and shot attempts RJ gets (and we know he still can't finish at the rim), damn RJ's stats because the eyeball test shows he's got more holes in his offensive game than Swiss Cheese. Also, we don't need more picks ! If we trade IQ who's backing up Grimes ? C'mon man !
Am I crazy to believe Quickley is better than RJ? I would trade RJ instead.
IQ is not the one to be traded right now. It's Evan and Rose primarily. Trading IQ for what? I think it's stupid.
Why would we trade Quickley to a team like the Warriors for a late first round pick?This is a guy with actual elite defense at the point of attack that's shown shooting prowess in the past over a big sample size for someone who theoretically y could be one of those things(or not)Obi is the one to trade out of our 2020 picks if you're gonna trade someone because you don't want to pay him.What Alex is proposing is a reverse Cam trade but Quickley has already proven he's much more valuable than Cam ever was or is now in the NBA.The Knicks front office has proven in a very small sample size(two drafts)that they can draft well but there's no assurance that they are even gonna be in charge in 2025 26 or 2027.Cam is not gonna be on this team, no chance ,it seems like something went on after the Dallas game and he's never gonna play another minute for the Knicks again.
The Knicks does need to have good player why tread the one you got.why you people don't think.
Trading your best player for a possible lottery ticket in 2025 because your front office is too stupid to hire a coach is a great first step to accepting mediocrity forever.
