Jakob Poeltl Drawing Interest From Toronto Raptors

Jakob Poeltl has lifted his game to new heights since re-signing with the San Antonio Spurs in 2020. He’s become a full-time starter for the first time two seasons ago and has put up career-best numbers since. But Poeltl’s future in San Antonio remains murky. The Spurs have increasingly used him as an offensive hub (Poeltl is averaging a career-high 3.5 assists per game), in addition to his elite rim protection and rebounding. But San Antonio is rebuilding, and Poeltl could net a nice return via trade. The 7-foot-1 center’s original team is reportedly interested in bringing him back. The Toronto Raptors have retained interest in Poeltl since they traded him to the Spurs in the deal that brought Kawhi Leonard north. The Boston Celtics have also been linked to Poeltl, but for now the Celtics appear to be content with their roster as is. Jake Fischer/Yahoo Sports

  1. I think that would be a perfect trade for Raps. Gary's going to walk. He can take all the shots he wants on the Spurs. Raps need rim protection and rebounding. So to be able to get a big that can do both plus be a play maker ala Marc Gasol, the Raps would be in a much better position. Adding in Richardson fills a BIG need of knocking down 3's with more consistency. I think you may have prophesied
