Because Chris should not be playing center at his size
pksubb76
Starting barely matters, it’s because Chris is one of a few guys besides our main starters who can score, he’s our main scoring threat off the bench sadly.
Chris still averages 23 mins a night, and Koloko averages about 16

Chris is not a true center. He did start from time to time in Tampa at the C position (because Baynes and Len were injured/shit) and he did an admirable job but it’s clear he isn’t a center and making him battle with traditional 5s night in and night out isn’t the best for the team or for Chris.
However it did have advantages because he would torch the bigger and slower 5 matchup offensively which is why I think that along with Chris Finch’s offense he had a very good Tampa season.
He torched Embiid multiple games even is considered low key a 76ers killer. He torched Capela. He torched Vucevic and Boston’s center. He gave Nerlens Noel the work.
All of his highest scoring games 25 or more was when he was playing the 5. It’s not a coincidence.

Neither of them should be starting but the roster is so lacking in size at the rim because we haven’t prioritized a big that he’s literally the tallest option we have.
Koloko has punched well above his weight as a rookie but lawd, he is still too raw to be starting.

Maybe to give some punch off the bench
MakiSerb3
Have you seen Chris Boucher try to play defense vs bigs?
wilson81585
Because he isn’t the right size and doesn’t have the strength to play center and he is one of our only punches off the bench. What kind of offensive bench punch is Koloko gonna give?
Johnnywalgger
Koloko is the man. He’s better than Booch. Stats are for losers
Michalo88
Because Koloko is a better rim defender (averaging +0.5 blocks/game over Boucher).
PossessionFit5172
They both suck who cares
Delicious_Fee574
Having Chris off the bench give your bench more strength. It’s not like he’s getting more minutes than him
jeRskier
Boucher gets eaten alive by opposing centers and without him our bench would be bereft of scoring punch.
Sigmaintellectual
Because Koloko is the only true big man this team has
Such_Newspaper_8458
Has Koloko even seen minutes on the 905 team yet?
somedumbguy55
To blow it up.

Because he’s a better rim protector

Dont act like Chris hasn’t been a disaster this year lol
Sir_Yash
Because, then we would have the worst bench in the league and these bums won’t develop at all. Bum being juancho no koloko or Boucher
Da-Wang
Ones 7 foot the other is 6’8 that’s why. If Chris was 7 feet he’d be a star lol
biscotty22
Because he’s a centre and Boucher is a forward
danglez69
They have made it clear they don’t like him at C. An he dies get destroyed by big guys. Looking at points isn’t very realistic in this situation

We almost lose all games when Koloko starts.
