Wally Szczerbiak on Tyrese Haliburton after last nights game vs the Knicks “Mr. Supposed, Wannabe, Fake All-Star”

Sure you can argue this but why did he have to say all of that? Tyrese is a solid player and a good guy.. Why Wally?

Tyrese Haliburton- 19.5, 10.7, 4.0, 1.7, 47/38.5/87.6, 59.8 TS%, 18 double-doubles, 22.9 PER, 3.9 WS.

Jalen Brunson- 20.8, 6.2, 3.2, 1.2, 47/37/89, 57.9 TS%, 3 double-doubles, 20.4 PER, 3.4 WS.

A 40+ year old “professional” trashing on a 21 year old is just weird

  2. bugaaron

Yeah because a one time all star with a career average of 14 PPG is the authority on greatness lmao. These old heads are just bitter that most of them aren’t close to today’s talent in the NBA.

just happens when players get better. esp when your team beats said player. realistically hali is/can be an all star, just hasn’t been playing like his start of season self and im sure hes aware of both things

  4. DirksSexyBratwurst

Lol nobody is safe people are out here slandering Tyrese Haliburton

  5. itsnotyellowfever

I understand it from the perspective of pushing an agenda that Jalen Brunson should be getting the same All-Star love that Haliburton has been getting all year, but it sounds like Wally is taking something *very* personally

I had no idea he had any association with the Knicks. I thought he’d be part of the Wolves

Tyrese has looked great on two separate teams with two separate styles and both were dysfunctional around him. Now he is leading one of those teams to a WAYYYY better record than anyone possibly could have thought. How are any of you saying he isn’t the real deal lmfao

  8. For the record, Knick fans don’t claim Wally, he grew up on Long Island but there was never really any team affiliation, it would be like Tobias Harris doing NYK color commentary in ten years

Had no idea this dude was a post game media guy, for the Knicks of all teams? I don’t think he ever played in NY so someone please tell me the connection.

Dude looks like he used all his playing money on plastic injections for his face and it’s probably affecting his analysis. Why dude slurping Knicks players so hard he’s bashing great young talent, he needs the Knicks job that bad? Also didn’t even know how long Halis been in the league lol

Tyrese been the best point guard in the Eastern Conference

Hey I’m sorry but who gives a shit what ole Wally has to say? Hali fucks

  12. ArnoldisKing

havent heard this guys name in a long time.was always jealous of his hairline

  13. LoudRise858

Who even paid Wally Szczerbiak to be a commentator. Nobody cares about his input on the game

  14. Why are auxillary NBA players like him and House trying to start shit on behalf of their teams? It’s just a weird approach.

  15. saufcheung

If I remember correctly, Wally would know all about wannabe fake all star.

  16. KnoxsFniteSuit

Lmaaoo. This is his way of saying he thinks Brunson should make it over him I guess. He does call Hali a great player in the clip

  17. ConorJay25

I honestly don’t think Hali JB or Randle will be all stars

  18. beforeitcloy

It’s not that deep. Wally’s doing a local broadcast for local fans / ownership who want to hear full throated support for their local players to make the all star team. It’s NYC, so the style is blunt / aggressive. He then caught himself two sentences later realizing he had taken it too far and said Hali is a great young player.

Just wondering if Wally can show us where Tyrese hurt him.

  20. action_nick

This post will get more attention than the Knicks 7 game winning streak and basically having elite stats over the last 12 games (second best +-, 2nd best defense). Lolknicks never ends.

It was an off the cuff comment after a tough game on the Knicks post game show. He also said he was a great promising young player, he just wants Jalen to be the all star.

  21. GeddyVedder

I think Wally is dealing with a lifetime of trauma due to people spelling Zerbiack incorrectly.

  22. hyperlip

wally is an emotional guy, huge homer. likely just high off the win rather than speaking analytically. which, right, not the best for analyst. but at least he’s pretty entertaining

  23. mikey12345

He put up 15 and 10 in the loss? That’s pretty decent eh?

  24. myteriality

hali seems like one of the most genuinely sweet guys in the league, even if i thought he was overrated i couldn’t imagine doing a full takeout on him

  25. TroyAtWork

Wally was one of the weakest All-Star selections in NBA history.
