.SACRAMENTO, Calif. β€”β€Œ After arriving home with a 3-3 road record to start a six-game homestand, the Sacramento Kings endured a devastating 125-119 loss to the Charlotte Hornets at Golden 1 Center on Dec.19.

Thanks to the Kings missing 17 of 31 free throws. The Hornets were able to end an eight-game losing streak on the Kings’ home court.πŸŽ™

β€œWe’re definitely better than what we showed. But like I said, We let a dangerous team get hot,” Domantas Sabonis said following the game. The 6-foot-11 center Sabonis reeled in another monstrous effort with 28 points, 23 rebounds, and seven assists for the Kings (16-13).πŸŽ™

De’Aaron Fox was equally effective with 37 points, five rebounds, and two assists for the Kings, who has a two-game win streak entering the game. The sixth-year point guard scored 17 of the Kings’ 27 points in the fourth quarter.πŸŽ™

Kelly Oubre Jr. had 31 points and 10 rebounds while LaMelo Ball added 23 points, five rebounds, and 12 assists for Charlotte Hornets (8-23), who ended an eight-game losing streak. πŸŽ™

The Hornets’ last win was 117-116 against the Washington Wizards on Dec. 2. Gordon Hayward had 19 points and five rebounds and Mason Plumlee scored 15 points in a winning effort. πŸŽ™

Ball scored 16 points in the fourth quarter after sitting most of the first half in foul trouble and three points in the scoring column.πŸŽ™

β€œLike my pops (LaVar Ball) said, β€˜there’s always two half of a game,’” Ball said. β€œI pretty much knew in that first half it was pretty much over with with the little foul trouble that I had. So I was already locked in on the second half.”

Harrison Barnes had to leave the game with a right quad contusion. Barnes finished with 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists in 29 minutes. The Kings gave up 72 points in the paint to the Hornets, who lost to the Denver Nuggets 119-115 the night before on the road. πŸŽ™

β€œThey were ready for us,” said Kings rookie forward Keegan Murray, who scored 11 points. β€œThey played hard the whole night.”

Charlotte Hornets head coach Steve Clifford was one of three finalists for the Kings job over the summer. πŸŽ™
