Said it in preseason. KP’s 7’3ness was causing Warriors players to come toward the lane and then nope out lol. In the past couple weeks guys have been going right at him and scoring but at least aside from a few really bad fouls and and-1s he’s not getting into foul trouble. Sometimes all you can do with guys like Morant and Edwards is make it a tough finish and head back down the other way.
I’m not even completely sure what this metric takes into account so maybe it isn’t capturing the nope outs but he’s been a positive for us on defense in the lane overall. Issue is when he gets drawn out he often doesn’t have the footspeed to get back, but that was identified early on in articles about the Wizards as a drawback. More the team plays together I think the more they can maximize his skills, minimize his weaknesses and keep him on the floor.
