Feel like if Embiid plays really well against the clippers and Knicks on Christmas day, and the sixers win, he’ll probably get a good jump in the standing.
Everything after top 3 is meaningless anyway but I don’t see how Mitchell is below Zion, Ja, or Embiid. I’m borderline on Luka as well

By February top 3 will be the same top 3 as last year. Giannis, Jokic and Embiid statistically are head a shoulders above the rest
Not very concerned since it’s only December but I don’t understand why Ja would be ahead of Embiid.
He’s averaging less points, rebounds, blocks, and shooting a lower percentage from 2, 3 and the the free throw line. Sixers are also #2 defense in the league which Embiid is anchoring while Ja doesn’t stand out defensively.
He’s played 3 more games and the Grizz record is 18-11 vs the sixers who are 18-12.
I like Ja, I just don’t understand how the ordering works in this situation when he’s worse in almost every category but still ranked higher.
I am pretty sure Jokic was awarded the MVP earlier this week on this sub.

Relatively calm thread this week. Nuggets fans love Giannis, and most Bucks fans love Jokic, so those fanbases are good either way.
Embiid at 7 feels too low but might be cause of games played ig? I don’t see why Tatum is ahead of KD and why Mitchell is so low
The media really loves Ja. He’s been great, but he’s too high here. Mitchell and Embiid are also too low. Too much emphasis on seeding when the separation between 1st and 10th in the west is 4 games. And 1st and 6th in the east is 4.5 games.
Reminder that the MVP ladder is nothing more then a power ranking. The straw poll only thing that can tell you where the voters are leaning currently.

Joker’s crazy good but FUCK giving an MVP three-peat to a player who hasn’t won a ring or even made the Finals. If MJ and Bron didn’t get one, Joker sure as hell shouldn’t.
I wish he hadn’t won it last year because this was a way better season to give it to him. I know the records were pretty similar at the top of the board, but giving the MVP to a 6th seed team that was almost certainly going to be out in the 1st round was just a bad call.

Mitchell should be top 5. No way should Morant be at 5 with his numbers compared to the others on this list.
Giannis’ shooting is really down this year, same with his defensive stats. It’s gotta be joker again, his efficiency is incredible and he’s the one seed currently
