[Dave McMenamin] The Lakers and AD truly have no idea what the injury is yet, and that’s why they’ve sought out so many opinions. They’re trying to determine if a brace will allow him to play through the discomfort or if surgery is required

This makes sense following the weirdness swirling this injury.

Jovan Buha after literally anything happens: Undisclosed sources are telling me that the Lakers are now willing to part with both first round picks in order to make a Westbrook trade. BRACE yourself for some DISCOMFORT within the organization in the coming weeks.

    I see a Kawhi–Spurs-like scenario about to play out…

The Lakers should prioritize what’s best for AD in 2023-24 really. This year isn’t totally “lost” so to speak but the upside of this roster is low.

That really sucks. It was awesome watching him dominate early in the season, but I guess this injury was inevitable

  6. Jeanie’s top physician that she hired from the CVS down the street has no idea what ADs injury is

If AD needs surgery then there goes another season lost of LeBron playing at an All Star level.

If he’s going to have to play through discomfort then there’s no reason to bring him back prematurely. If he can’t play at the Level he did by the time he gets back the season is cooked anyway.

  9. I like that we don’t know what the problem is but surgery is the answer. Just general foot surgery.

A brace on the foot of an injury prone 7 footer so he can play in a year they probably aren’t getting passed the first round? I mean I know why, but why the hell are the Lakers actually considering this?

  11. Lakers are cheaping out and won’t get AD a brace. /s

Lakers trying to spin this shit is hilarious. We all knew Davis would have a season ending injury at some point.

Surprised Ben Simmons didn’t use this excuse yet. Don’t know what’s wrong can’t play

  14. sheeeeeez

He’s going to die on the court, isn’t he?

Playing through undiagnosed foot injuries where surgery is an option doesn’t sound like the best long term plan

They aren’t winning the championship nor will they go far in the playoffs. Trying to find ways for him to play is just negligence at this point. Punt the season, try to get a 1st round pick if possible

There is no injury I bet, it’s all in AD’s mind. He has the lowest pain tolerance of any human I’ve ever seen. I bet there is no structural problem whatsoever and that it is a minor little ache that every other player just deals with but Davis seems like he needs to 110% pain free no matter how minor it is just to step on the court. Otherwise, runs straight back to the locker room to whine about “fixing” something.

Maybe don’t risk having the injury-prone big play through foot injuries?

It can’t be that hard to get some imaging and see some orthopedic surgeons
