  1. Jokic is probably going to win again. My dude is so consistent with his game and he isn’t as injury prone as some of the other MVP candidates

  2. The lakers are really making me sad, I’ve wanted them to buy in trade the picks and seriously contend but honestly with ad out indefinitely lebron not looking like a guy who can carry a otherwise extremely mediocre team I think they should give up, even them Lebrons not getting traded and idk if ad could be this year either, given injuries his value can’t be nearly as high as it was a week or 2 ago, it’s just a sad situation for the lakers rn

  3. Nuggets definitely would have to maintain the first seed hopefully he can finish the season averaging 25/10/10 would seal his case

  4. 1:00 Theres numerous reasons why Jokic won’t his 3rd straight MVP amongst them being Murray seems to be back and the Nuggets are absolutely loaded.

Even MPJ’s is really like a B version of Kevin Durant. Close to 7 feet, big time handle.

He missed all of last year with his back injury but the year before that he was going 19-7 on 54% from the floor & 45% from 3 on over 6 a game. That’s elite.

The reason why Jokic won repeat MVP’s is because of injuries to Murray and MPJ but honestly Luka should’ve won MVP. He did more than Jokic with arguably less and finished with a better record.

  5. Jokic is easily leading the MVP race.

But I can see Tatum winning for the sake of preventing the repeat.

  6. A guy like Hassan Whiteside wouldn't be a bad option as a tall backup for either the Nuggets or Clippers

  7. The only reason jokic might not win is because tatum and giannis are just so good but they have considerably more help so their better record isnt even that much more impressive

  8. Did you call Cavaliers a top 3 offense? They're ranked 24th. In fact, 10 of the top 11 scoring teams are all from the West. It's difficult to clamp down on teams when the Conference has so much firepower, much easier to just focus on outscoring them. Plus Nuggets have had a ton of away games, and several new players to acclimate all while MPJ and Murray have returned from their injuries while being in and out.

Now that the team is healthier and they've got to play at home more lately, you can see that their defense is already starting to improve.

  9. I know the focus will be on Jokic. But Aaron Gordon, Bruce Brown, and KCP are all having the best seasons of their career. Obviously, that's partly the Jokic effect. He makes teammates so much better. But this is also the best supporting cast he's ever had. Jamal Murray has been inconsistent since returning, and MPJ has been injured as usual. But meanwhile, Jokic has three great role players beside him who are good two-way players. They're all scoring efficiently, hitting their threes, and playing defense. Yes, I know that the Nuggets' defense has been bad overall. But I don't blame that on them. I love the flexibility these guys gives them in a playoff lineup. MPJ almost seems like an afterthought, which is crazy to say for one of the best shooters in the league.

In retrospect, was their former GM Tim Connelly holding them back? People talked about him as a great GM. He did draft Jokic, so he gets a huge amount of credit for that. But he also drastically overpaid a bunch of players on the roster. He gave MPJ a massive contract despite the health concerns, and he did it way earlier than he needed to. And then he leaves for Minnesota and immediately makes the awful Gobert trade.

Meanwhile, Calvin Booth took his place, and Denver ended up having one of the best offseasons in the entire NBA.

  10. I was so pissed at the Knicks for wasting RJ Barrett's incredible performance. It may have been the best game of his career. 44 pts on 20 shots. But they couldn't make FTs. Jalen Brunson, who shoots 89% at the line normally, missed some huge ones.

  11. Nah, Poeltl would never be happy with being just Jokic's back up and play at most 15 minutes a game, less in the playoffs. That's the dilema Denver usually suffers from – It's hard to find a center that would at the same time do not represent a big drop off from Jokic but be happy with as little play time. But that's ok, Denver doesn't need to be great when Jokic's off the court. They're so good with him that as long as they are not absolutely murdered when he's off they'll be fine. 😉

Also, Denver's defense has already started to improve – their defense has been about middle of the pack for the last 10 games, and it's trending up. So there's no point in panicking right now. They just had many new pieces to be integrated and develop chemistry and learn the defensive achemes, and I'm willing to bet it will continue to improve.

So I'd say the roster is pretty fine defense wise right now… They're actually deep enough for it to be causing problems, since a pretty good defensive rookie in CB cannot find playtime when everyone is healthy. And then we have Kamagate and Watson as great defensive prospects that will likely get into the rotation next year.

    Cheers!
