“I think this is for the first time in like 4 years throughout this Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant era where it's literally been just basketball… Talent has never been the issue.”

The issue isn’t the drama it’s been healtb. This is the first time in 4 years where we’ve legit had a 15-20 game stretch with our main rotation.
Honestly, the Celtics comparison is pretty accurate and I never even thought about that
Lmfao he can’t even attempt to pronounce Watanabe’s name
Health has also been a huge part of it. It’s a little disingenuous to say “4 years” when people have been out for legit reasons (KD rehabbing, COVID destroying continuity, Joe’s double surgery ending his career, etc etc)
But I can’t disagree with Sham’s overall sentiment, though.
Its funny to see the media try to generate this “now without distractions, Nets are playing well״
When its probably a lot more to do with health, improved coaching, a focus on team rebounding”
Why do people keep counting the first season when KD was injured and neither guy went to the bubble?
Its always been Kyrie …
Kyrie plays instead of that whole COVID thing and last year would probably be different and harden might still be a Nets.
No Kyrie contract or movie “thing” and the poor early season start probably doesn’t happen.
You can’t avoid injuries but the unforced errors that are Kyrie’s extracurricular activities are a thing.
Honest question, if you had the choice between signing kyrie to a max contract or a max contract where he feels he needs to be on his best behaviour (similar to his situation now) ie max with conditions … Which would you prefer?
(The question is not what you would offer, but what you would prefer he sign)
The narrative shouldn’t change. The Nets lost TWO of their big three in a series against the eventual champs and even then it went to the final shot and a foot on the line.
Yes, off-field issues haven’t been good but it’s largely been a health issue with everything else being secondary.
