Bucks are +48 in 262 minutes w/o Giannis in December and -69 in 415 minutes with him on floor. Bucks had never been worse than +2.0 net with Giannis on the floor over a full month in the Bud era — yet this month they’re -8.2 in spite of Giannis averaging 32.3 ppg on 59% TS! [@fmaddenNBA]

>3FG% variance is def part of it: 31% with Giannis vs. 39% w/o him, opponents 37% with him on vs 34% off. Huge offensive load he’s carrying when he doesn’t have Jrue/Khris is both diminishing his efficiency and reducing his impact on defensive end. Really needs Khris/Jrue healthy.
We need more offense without khris/jrue that isn’t a giannis drive and kick. Open or not, the shooters aren’t making 3s. I understand the philosophy of “let it fly”, sometimes you gotta shoot your way out of a slump, but it’s not working at all with just a giannis drive and kick. At least with the current personnel.
He faces toughest line ups of other teams. When off the floor our remaining players face weaker line ups on average, allowing them to excel, as he cushions the blow of teams at their strongest.
