Think we should trade for a big rather than a wing. Our first priority should be a rim protecting center who could maybe stretch the floor a little bit. Getting a Center like that would allow Thomas Bryant to be our backup 5 and dominate against other bench bigs. We would also see more minutes for Lebron at the 3 allowing quality starting wing minutes.

Trusting a Laker besides Lebron to perform well has been rough
While Brown and JTA have played well the last couple games, I’m not ready to hedge my bets on two vet minimum wings. The Lakers absolutely need a rim protecting center, and they should continue exploring that. However, wings are simply more valuable in today’s NBA so the Lakers still need to prioritize getting some size and talent there.
If there’s one thing modern NBA basketball has taught me it’s that you can’t have enough wings
In an ideal world, you want LeBron, JTA, Brown and then x2 additional wings. The NBA is a wing-league and in the playoffs, most teams go small. I’d argue there’s a higher chance Myles Turner gets played off the court than a wing. If we reach the playoffs guys like JTA basically become a necessity.
I like Brown and JTA a lot. I think having Christie in a back pocket is great. Our wing cupboard isn’t bare.
But it is very thin. We need a couple more guys that can play in that 3/4 range like JTA. That allows Christie and Brown to be 2/3s like they’re actually best at and evens out the roster.
Teams go small by putting at a forward at center. But they still maximize size across the rest of their lineup. Right now our ability to do that is razor thin.
I trust them more than running 3 or 4 guard lineups
I trust them playing than ham having a 3 to 4 guard lineup
We gotta stop this pat bev/ shroeder shit and utilize them way more.
Jones has one skill. Rim running. That’s it
Here’s the thing tho, the Lakers don’t make the second round without AD being healthy. Any scenario where AD is not healthy is a losing one so it’s best to assume he’s healthy. In that case, ye wings are needed.

Damian Jones problem is he is lackluster on both defense and offense. He’s Bryant but without the size to back it up. JTA is bad on offense but can rebound or defend better than Jones. Troy Brown is bad on defense but can get open and sink the basket every so often. Honestly we need to pickup another Center, either Boogie or Howard even though they’re old, they can intimidate players from driving on us. Flip some of our guards for 1-2 more wings. Size really has been better and hopefully Ham finally sees that with how well they’ve been past two games
