I think Julius was in to see if he could get another 30pt game under his belt.
Brunson was likely in to give him as many minutes as possible to get back into game rhythm after being out for 10 days.
Don’t forget that these guys making all star teams and what not is part of the picture, like it or not.
It also wasn’t long ago we were up by 9 with 30 seconds to go and lost. So 20pt lead with 3 minutes to go ain’t far off with that fresh in everyone’s mind.

To be totally fair, as I’ve said before, play style and quality of minutes matters as well.
Both teams were more or less walking up and down the court each possession with about 6 minutes left to go.

We’re the Knicks…
We gave up 9 points in like 35 seconds a few games ago. It is near impossible to feel comfortable with any type of lead as a longtime Knicks fan. I honestly didn’t feel like this was in the bag until like 5 minutes left in the 4th. Wish our guys could have gotten more rest, but Thibs wanted to make sure this didn’t get close.

This isn’t the only game this season Thibs left the stars in for too long, it’s like he can’t help himself. Maybe he feels what we all collectively feel that no lead is safe with this team and obviously the Dallas game is still on all our minds.

Thry made a few tenish point runs while we had the lead. Had to keep our best talent out there to retain it.
