I been saying forever that the Lakers need to stop playing AD at the center position during the regular season. He gets injured too much.
Obviously Ayton is not in the same league as AD, but to be fair, Ayton doesn't get enough touches to develop into an elite player. The main reason why him and Monte Williams are always getting into it, and why Ayton wants out, is because Ayton feels he is being wasted. Ayton may not be an elite center now, but he can definitely become one. Remember, we are trading an injury plagued AD, so we aren't getting any top 15 players back. What we hope to get is young talent that can develop into elite players and draft picks. This trade can work for the Suns, because the Suns can make the playoffs even if AD is out half the season. This trade works for the Lakers, simply by opening up a ton of flexibility in the offseason, while still giving us something to get into the playoffs with. You got to keep Russ this year though if you are getting Ayton, because Russ allows bigs to feast. Nunn and Beverly are just not needed, even if Bev is playing better, we just have too many guards that can't run an offense.
Terribble trade. Ur a Laker fan proposing this? Crowder and few shitty picks are not enough to offset how much worse Ayton is than AD in terms of ceiling.
I've said this before we're never going to get value for AD and he's still going to want a Max contract next year.

Once he starts aging it'll be worse (he'll be 30). If we can get this, we should do it. I love AD but the Lakers come 1st and I lost faith in his health as our franchise player. We need to trade him, once he's starts playing again.
not gonna happen. suns being on win now mode won't trade their youngsters for an injury prone AD and future picks. they will want someone that can help them win now in exchange. AD isn't that because of his injury history. AD is always a wildcard and will always have a big ''IF'' attached to his name. no team in win now mode would want that.

If the lakers do trade AD, they should trade AD to Atlanta for capella, bogdanovic and Jalen Johnson. The money works, the lakers get a serviceable big, a guard in bogdanovic who can space the floor and a young project in Johnson. Trey and Murray would give AD so many good looks and AD will help the hawks on both the defensive and offensive end
