I know trade machine stuff here can be annoying/controversial, but I really like this trade for us. Thoughts?

(THIS ASSUMES THE WIZARDS ARE NOT GOING TO TANK WHICH IS PROBABLY WHAT THEY SHOULD DO) My thoughts:

Trent and Anunoby would be exception fits for the wizards. Both can shoot the 3 ball lights out when they are on, Anunoby is a plus defender and fits better with this team. Trent can be the spark off the bench that we wanted Barton to be or even start. We could have a lineup of Morris/Beal/Anunoby/Gaff/KP if we want to keep the tall bois and Delon/Trent/Kispert/Rui/Avdija off the bench. We could also easily slot in rui at 4 or put in Trent or kispert at 3 and Anunouby at 4 if we want more shooting. This gives us a 1-2 deadly 3 point threats on the court at any given point in time and upgrades the defense. If the Raptors want Deni instead of Davis I’d do that too if it was a deal breaker since his role would not be as obvious with Anunouby.

The Lakers perspective is simple, they get the guy they want. Maybe you could say 2 picks is too much but they aren’t giving up much outside of that to get Kuzma and have a good chance of keeping him long term.

Raptors get 3 decent picks, expiring contracts (one that is young) and a prospect

Wizards should still probably try to upgrade at PG, but there are not many available options that make sense

  2. Lakers not giving up 2 (likely lottery) 1sts for kuz.

OG is nice trade target for us. Could just explore a trade directly with the raptors

Yeah the lakers may do one first for Kuz but both needs to bring back multiple players.

Lakers giving up a pick to get russ, then give two more picks to get back the guy the traded to get russ? Then paying Kuz 20M+ a year in the offseason? I think the fans would literally tear down that arena, i can’t see this happening lol, we aren’t giving up enough and the lakers are giving up wayyyy too much.

  5. If LW4 wasn’t in there and the picks weren’t in there I could see the Lakers considering. But I don’t think they give up all that for Kuz.

Keep posting them. I think they’re fun to discuss. And sorry to any players who may be lurking and are being fake traded 😬 (also we can’t actually trade our 2025 FRP even though Fanspo says we can)

The Lakers want Kuzma, but in no world are the rights to pay Kuzma $80m+ over the next 4 seasons worth 2 premium firsts.

This also evaporates most of LAs cap space that they are planning to use on a big name free agent this off season.

Plus Walker is an important part of their rotation and 3rd on the team in minutes.
