Chris Beard’s lawyer Perry Minton:
– “I want to be on record as emphatically stating, and herein memorializing, that Coach Beard has not done anything to violate any provision of his contract with the University of Texas.”

University of Texas response to Chris Beard’s lawyer Perry Minton:
– “Chris Beard engaged in unacceptable behavior that makes him unfit to serve as head coach at our university. Instead of immediately terminating Mr. Bears, the university exercised thoughtful restraint to allow time for additional material facts to emerge…Our evaluation of Mr. Beard’s fitness for service is not contingent on whether he is also convicted of a particular crime or whether those charges are dismissed at some point. Additionally your letter this morning reveals that Mr. Beard does not understand the significance of the behavior he knows he engaged in, or the ensuing events that impair his ability to effectively lead our program.”

Ex-Villanova head coach Jay Wright’s resume:
– Career Record: 642-282

– 2 Sweet 16’s

  3. This was just such a stupid firing, he hasn’t even been proven guiltily so in my eyes an off court issue has no effect on his on court performance so why not still have him coach until he is proven guilty then take action or not proven guilty and allow him to continue coaching

  4. Men are not allowed to defend themselves, even when violently attacked. And probably justifiably, because a man can severely injure a woman if he went fully violent against her. An advise I share is leave the premises, don’t touch her, take the licks and keep on kicking those feet till you vacate the danger zone. No court is sympathetic to a batter husband…

  5. The university of Texas, where premium coaching careers go to fade away. Geesh…

  6. Some names you didnt mention:
Nate Oats. That buyout wont be a problem for Texas.
Scott Drew. This might be the job that lures him from Baylor.
Jerome Tang. Knows Texas well, excellent recruiter, off to a great start at Kansas State.
Niko Medved from Colorado State. Hes proven he is the top shelf recruiter in the Mountain West, and with the resources Texas has, he would have no ceiling.
And last but not least, John Calipari. His seat might be getting a little warm at Kentucky, and Texas is one of the few schools that a) can pay him what he has become accustomed to, and wont have unrealistic expectations every year. If Calipari did for Texas what he has done at Kentucky over the last 15 years, thats the greatest coach in Texas history.

  7. A shame how the sports world bows down to women, liberals, socialists, and hate groups. The people doing the firing are probably much more immoral than this man…
