Possibly the dream game for how our two main guys should play together, I don’t think I’ve seen that synergy ever since Lonzo got hurt – excellent game for both Zach and Demar

They’re definitely trending upwards. Good teams figure out a way to win that game even with the back to back dead legs. Funny how they’re becoming what we initially thought this core would be. Amazing on offense and pretty bad on defense.

Takeaways from tonight:
* Deebo had a solid game as a whole. Shot well. Played solid defense even if he made a couple mistakes. I’m still concerned that he actually tweaked his wrist last game since he’s still shaking it out every so often. He pulled it out really big in the second half and willed us to this win.
* Zach started out super hot and couldn’t get it going again after coming off the bench. Nothing egregious on defense. Just a mid night until he hit some big 3’s in the 4th and picked up the pace from there. My biggest complaint from Zach tonight was just how poorly he took care of the ball.
* Vucevic was super efficient, but didn’t get a lot of shots up. He rebounded very well and actually was solid on defense.
* Pat had a rough shooting night. I don’t think he was doing anything wrong, just didn’t shoot well. I hate how Billy tried to put him on Clarkson in the 3rd after he was torching Ayo. Pat is a good defender, but putting him on tiny guards who are that quick isn’t the answer. He stepped it up in the 4th and stayed aggressive. He tried to absolutely smash a couple on Lauri’s head and one of these days he’s going to start finishing them.
* Ayo had really good moments and really bad moments. I wish he would’ve been able to play Clarkson harder, but we’re also coming off a b2b so I do understand.
* Bench was solid. Dragic was playing some solid defense and facilitated well. Drummond had a good night.
* Big win for the boys tonight battling through a b2b. We stayed in it and kicked it into second gear in the 4th to close it out. Happy to see us battling through these tough games.
MVP’s for tonight: Demar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic with an HM going to Zach LaVine (who honestly would’ve been an MVP as well if he didn’t have 5 TO’s).
You do realize this would be our 7th game winning streak right now right??

We’re seeing the fruit of an offense than no longer relies upon Lonzo to ensure ball movement and a defense that no longer relies upon Caruso to ensure energetic hustle. We’re also seeing a healthy Zack and a confident Patrick, but the biggest thing is that the team’s investment in a balanced style of play is beginning to pay off. Go bulls!!!
