Lol as of today we have a total of 950 bench points. Absolutely atrocious in every way. We need to fix the bench first before actually moving on from Ant. And even though I’m not high on Chauncey, he at least needs a competent bench to coach.

Y’all need to chill out. It sucks but it’s not even necessarily roster construction when your 6th, 7th and probably 8th players are injured for half or most of the season at this point.
I’ve been saying this. Our problem isn’t Ant, Its not that Ant and Dame aren’t playing well together, its not Chauncey…Our bench is not putting our starters in favorable positions. Our starting 5 is expected to get a lead, then come in later to salvage it. We need more from the 2nd unit. Everyone keeps suggesting changes to the starters like that is going to make a huge difference…Our starters are fine.
And this game came down to the wire. It aint the starters people. JC needs an offseason and a trade deadline to upright this ship and we are gonna be ok. We knew this from the start of it all, this season was a testrun. Turns out the starting lineup is pretty damn good.
Big problem yes…but the bench isn’t responsible for a season record in turnovers during this game…
This is why Blazers should trade for someone like Alec Burks. He’s 6’6 and is a bucket off the bench. Even with the whole roster healthy we still lack a primary bench scorer. Would get Burks for rest of this year and next then Sharpe should be ready to step into the primary bench scoring role by the time Burks is a free agent in ‘24
I wonder who leads the bench unit. Probably doesn’t make 25 million a year surely, with results like this? Sounds like it’d be problem. Maybe he’s a good defender though to offset it. That has to be the case, otherwise who on earth thought this was a good idea?
Yeah the team needs a couple easy wins to gain momentum right now. Ant in key possessions has been awful, the bench has been horrible on both ends and Dame regrets to attack the basket enough times and rather take a lot of tough 3s. That zone defense that worked miracles at the start of the season also doesn’t work much either. These losses are all on the team. Everybody has to step their game up right now.
The only playmaker on our bench is a 19 yr old rookie who is naturally going through some growing pains.
