QUOTES/NOTES/TOPICS:

OPENING STATEMENT:

“In case you don’t know, Braxton is from North Carolina. He’s 12-years old and his dream is to be Warriors coach for the day. So he will be serving as our honorary coach. The plan is, if we lose, he gets the come in and answer all of the questions after, but if we win, I’ll handle it. We’ll both be up here after the game too. Welcome, and it’s great to have you.”

ON THE STATUS OF ANDREW WIGGINS:

“He’s going to start and he will be on a minutes restriction. So we’ll play him in shorter spurts. Donte (DiVincenzo) will come off the bench. Jordan (Poole), Klay (Thompson), Loon (Kevon Looney) Draymond (Green), and Wiggs.”

ON THE STATUS OF ANDRE IGUODALA:

“Yeah, he’ll play a couple of stints. It’s flexible so it will kind of depend on how the game is going and how he’s feeling, but he’ll be out there tonight too.”

WARRIORS HONORARY COACH BRAXTON

ON HIS FAVORITE WARRIORS PLAYER:

“My favorite player has got to be Stephen Curry and my favorite experience so far is shaking Paolo Banchero’s hand.”

ON HIS ADVICE FOR THE TEAM TONIGHT:

“To play hard and play with everything we have.”

ON IF HE KNEW HE WOULD BE AT THIS PREGAME PRESS CONFERENCE:

“I did not and it’s one of the best experiences I’ve had.”

ON BEING AN NBA COACH:

“My best friend wants to be an NBA player and my goal is to coach him all the way.”

  2. Love Kerr talking about player mentality and Braxton hearing it because I think everyone can learn from that too. To handle adversity and to mentally move on from it is important and I hope Braxton has the strength as well to help him not only physically, but mentally too.
