So we got picks 49 and 51 in this years draft for the 2nd round. Honestly, these picks almost end up worthless. But if we get Emoni Bates with pick 49, I would definitely be happy. Any others I should be aware of?

He’d totally be worth a flier at 49.
I know it gets said most years, but this is supposed to be a deep draft. Just looking at the guys listed in the 40s:
* Jaquez, Shannon, Strawther, Keyontae could all be solid 2-way wing depth.
* Holmes and Bona could compete for backup 5 minutes.
I think it’s pretty likely we trade one of them at the deadline though.
Bates has a sub-30” vertical and was recorded with a wingspan shorter than his height, believe that’s the case for less than five players in the league… His FT shooting has been very poor and that’s generally a better long term indicator for shooting ability (not every player, but a lot of his shot making doesn’t feel consistent.)
His size is going to be an issue and he’s a negative defensively. Much rather take a swing on guys like Starling/Bailey/Tshiebwe/Jaylen Clark in that range over a one dimensional midrange scorer with size/athleticism/defense issues.
Most of the time that late, it don’t matter who you draft, you just gotta have the right locker room and player development for the guy.

First off we are going to sell one of those 2nds once we get to the draft. So narrow down your list.
Should take Tubelis trade for Valanciunas and start building the Lithuanian national team on the kings
