What do we make of these losses.. what is there to learn?

  1. We need that one bench player and we don’t have that. Imagine Bojan coming off the bench from the pistons? We’d have a few more wins than we do….

  2. We can learn to remember all these Ls next time Thibs keeps the starters on the floor up 15 with 4 minutes left in the game. No lead is safe.

1.) In the clutch, our players are usually exhausted they play more minutes than anyone in the league.

2.) defenses tighten up, refs are less likely to call ticky tack fouls

3.) Julius Randle ISO’s for at least 1/2 of the last 7 or 8 possessions in the end of the game. This kills momentum, and usually only results in us scoring about 1/4 the time.

4.) Thibs takes possessions off as a coach, and does not adjust. With a group like ours this can’t happen. Example – Knicks with a shortened 7 man rotation don’t get control of a rebound with seconds left on the clock. Jason Kid brings in Javale McGee & Christian Wood. Who were both bigger than the guys we had out there & Fresh. Thibs doesn’t give us advantages.

5.) This team needs direction in the clutch. Julius Randle should not touch the ball imo. Thibs should at least have some kinda play be called. We don’t need to take a timeout to run a play.

6.) Freethrows. At least 3 of the losses could have been avoided if the Knicks hit the freeones in clutch.

When teams go on a run we dont adjust well to stop it. The Hawks game I believe was the one Young was out andd Murray torched us

Bottom left is still hard to fathom and I watched it happen

Only the Dallas one is out of the ordinary for today’s NBA.

Last year the Clippers won 3 games where they were down by 24+.

The Raptors were down 21 with 3:10 in the 4th to the Bucks and sent the game to OT just 2 weeks ago.

So what these games tell me is nothing, other than we need to hit our free throws.

  7. millagger

That’s four times this season and we can find more last two years this is a Thibs a problem

  8. capitalistsanta

It’s happening all over the league. Bucks had a few heart breakers themselves.

  9. Late game execution. Players are making mistakes in the clutch. Things like missed free throws missed assignments on defense.

  10. LosManNYC

We rely too much on iso ball when we have a lead. Especially in the 4th.

We over help, leaving shooters wide open.

Still a “young team” without a star.

  11. charlesfluidsmith

Who here didn’t know Julius was turning it over when Brunson passed it to him in the middle of the lane.

Brunson if this is your team.

    Take us the fuck home.

  12. onepokemanz

The moral of the story is, place a 3-5$ bet on the op team when they are down 10+. U could win 50$ lol

  13. AlphakirA

That it’s the NBA. Come backs like these happen daily around the league.

  14. In this game there were 2 critical errors –

    1) thibs kept both Randle and Brunson on the bench for a few mins late 3rd / early 4th when we blew the lead. No reason for that- we had no offensive cohesion

    2) he is really bad at making adjustments. You could tell 1 min into the game that they were going to penetrate and dish to shooters in the corner and we kept helping off those guys. They should’ve let Giannis beat us a few times more or figured out a better way to rotate. It wasn’t complicated and plain for everyone to see. Eventually their shooters are gonna hit those shots.

Young teams find ways to lose games.

    We’re a young team

I believe eventually we’ll finish these games out.

  16. gwords16

We probably win last night if RJ is playing. Fournier hit a few 3s but he’s still a black hole on defense and that one 3 where he decided to help was one of the stupidest plays I’ve seen in a long time.

  17. datatadata

Absolutely no excuse for losing that game vs Mavs

  18. poopmast

    * Need to hit free throws
    * Need an athletic wing defender off the bench that can guard at least 3 positions, bench players like Joe Ingles shouldnt be having their one season high game against us
    * Need an creative offensive assistant, every team expects us to ISO crunch time
    * Develop Sims, Hart is not the answer

  19. yanks1580

Basketball is a game of runs, and the more experienced skilled teams find ways to cut other teams runs short and hold onto leads.

22-19….im proud of these knicks. They work hard and fight. It hasnt always been pretty, some bad Ls up there for sure….but so far this season they’ve done nothing but get a little better each passing game.

  20. Knomp2112

Knick fans learned nothing. This team has been choking late in games for as long as I can remember.

    But…but…but…..HARTENSTEIN

  21. sherm0613

Keep the ball away from Randle on crunch time

  22. EyedLoki4292

A 20 point lead is nothing in the nba anymore

  23. mr34mj23

They need a star player…no one in the NBA wins without a star player…Knicks have no one in the top 30

  24. Accomplished_Power_3

Just need a stronger roster. Mins aren’t a huge issue. Just feel like we need another bench scorer and obi should play instead of hart

  25. peregrinefalcon12

Not as anti-Thibs as the rest of the sub, but young teams need very strong coaching to close out games. Even beyond the NBA. It’s fair to say we have above average coaching at best.
