Remember back in 2015 when Josh Harris and David Blitzer reportedly had interest in selling?

I don’t really have anything against dumping one loser for a cheaper loser to dodge the tax, but right now Korkmaz is just about our only salary filler option that you can add to Thybulle, springer, or Shake to get into a better price range for a trade target.
So trading him just to dodge the tax signals to me that there isn’t shit out there for them to actually improve the team.

So I guess people either aren’t reading the article or just skipping over the first section where it says the Sixers will primarily look to upgrade the roster at the trade deadline. If the right deal isn’t there, then they might be looking to skip luxury tax.

Sixers have around $17 mil in bad salary in Furk, Harrell, House, Springer, Thybulle. Morey is 100% going to ship some of those fools out.

Has anyone here read the article that this all based on?
Jake Fischer never even says anything resembling that a source confirms the sixers are looking to dump salary. It’s just a series of observations that the Sixers are in line to pay the tax for a third straight year which carries a higher penalty.
And uses that piece of information to say that they COULD try to shed a combination Kork, Matisse, and Springer IF they CAN’T swing a trade that upgrades the team.
In conclusion, this is yet another wild overreaction by this fanbase to an absolutely nothing story.
