John asked Brad if they were going to run it back one more year and Beal said “I’ll think about it”
WHAT????? that’s absolutely crazy

Man, after this, I am all the way out on Brad. Fuck him, fuck Ted/Tommy for giving him so much power, and fuck this poverty ass franchise. If I am watching games anymore I will be sailing the seven seas.
God, I hope Ted doesn’t buy the Nats.

This is awfully disheartening learning (or confirming) that Tommy Sheppard straight up lied to John about the trade rumors and patching things up when he was asked by the media. Also really sucks learning that Brad not being sure about the run back post video was prolly where the line was drawn and things went south.
I’m sure once the video came out Ted already made up his mind on Wall, but really feel like Beal coulda pulled an ultimatum if he really wanted to keep John on some “if you trade him, trade me” but the idea of playing with a former MVP in russ was probably more enticing than running it back with John who just missed two years. It is what it is at this point but damn man, it’s like 85 percent of wizards based context or something involving the wizards is just awfully depressing to the fans. Hope you’re all doing well today.

Telling the owner that he isn’t perfect either probably wasn’t the greatest idea lol. I think Wall got too comfortable in DC and didn’t realize he couldn’t get away with the thing he probably could have before when he was an all-star player. I think people look at Wall’s last season’s with us with rose tinted glasses at this point. He was a DC legend but he could never stay healthy and was declining that point of his career. Like a lot of elite athletes he was also in denial of his declining abilities. That was interesting that Beal probably played a roll in getting rid of Wall.

Wow, fuck Ted Leonsis and Tommy Sheppard man. And look how fans carry the water for free – go back on this very subreddit and you’ll see all kind of shade thrown around that time when it suggested by Shams Wall wanted out. Tommy said in the press conference, “we weren’t looking to trade John Wall.” Turns out they were plotting the entire time.
I have so many memories of going to Wizards games. I saw guys go off against us and also saw Game winner, crazy plays, playoff sweeps. I make a modest earning, but always thought that I had to put my money where my fandom was. No way I can step foot in that arena again as long as Tommy Sheppard is GM.

It was obvious Brad had to sign off. To be fair it was initiated and pushed by ownership. I was mad at the time, but now I’m just glad we didn’t have to watch John’s decline.
From a basketball perspective moving John was the right play, but we won’t know the true end result for a while yet. We still have picks under protection and we don’t know things turn out with Kuz. I think if we had kept John we would have drafted Haliburton as his replacement though, rather than Deni.

Daaaaamn, well I guess the questions about Brad’s involvement are answered.

They did wall so dirty, he loves dc and you can tell.

John calling Tommy Sheppard a liar doesn’t surprise me one bit. Tommy is very savy when it comes to his media spots and he’s a great talker. That mf is a glorified used cars salesman.
