I saw that Luka was ranked 2nd on this “Clutch Player Ladder” thing ([https://www.nba.com/news/nba-clutch-player-ladder-january-2023](https://www.nba.com/news/nba-clutch-player-ladder-january-2023)) and clicked through to the clutch stats and saw that Luka is actually tied for the most “clutch” wins with 16 (and only 8 losses). I found this rather surprising as it has felt like we’ve lost so many close games this year, but I guess we’ve won quite a few too. Twice as many as we’ve lost in fact (at least in the games Luka has played.)(source: [https://www.nba.com/stats/players/clutch-traditional?DateTo=01/17/2023&PerMode=Totals&dir=A&sort=W](https://www.nba.com/stats/players/clutch-traditional?DateTo=01/17/2023&PerMode=Totals&dir=A&sort=W))
Luka also leads all players in clutch assists. He’s 6th in points & 5th in rebounds. (and first in steals.)
All of this experience in clutch games should be an asset for the Mavs in the playoffs.

It feels like we’ve lost a lot of clutch games because we are in a lot of clutch games. Like 75% of our games are considered clutch
I think Luka likes playing in close games. Last season the bench would have a lead, then Luka would come in and the Mavs would let the game get close. When Luka should have been finishing off teams, he would let them get back into the game constantly playing hero ball.
