That second half disappearing act is no surprise but 10 points is really good for Ben.

In his last seventeen games he’s only scored more than 10 points ONCE when he exploded for 12 against the Bucks.

Oh god 😭 and how much does he earn again?

  3. RunAndDunkMan

Honestly he was creating tons of open looks that the Nets were missing

The issue of course is that he can’t really be your best player and still expect to win because he can’t do anything to take over games with his scoring ability

    It’s like Draymond without Steph

10 points as the first option 🔥

  5. Tobias Harris who has one of the worst contracts in the league still managed to lead the Sixers to a win as a 1st option against the healthy Nets when Embiid, Harden and Maxey were out. Meanwhile Ben as a 1st option is not even good enough to beat the Spurs while he is earning 40 million per year.

  6. nomitycs

Do people think when Curry and Klay aren’t playing that Draymond becomes the first option?

Ben was 5th in FGA on his team, he wasn’t their first option

  7. So pretty much what Harden would do with one arm and one leg.

I’m afraid Giddey is already the best Aussie in the league

  9. riceybois

if you ignore the turnovers its not terrible

  10. CamReddish

Current Draymond without the balls to take a jumpshot

    >as the first option

5th on the team in shots

  12. I can’t hate, dude said he needed to be more aggressive and put up 10 shots the next game. Good for him. Hopefully next time he connects on a couple more and cuts down the turnovers.

He’s clearly never gonna be the same guy he was pre-“Trae/Dunk” but he can still contribute to a winning team. Just gotta start missing those free-throws oddly enough (don’t mess with the sports/jinx gods)

Don’t care. 100% FTs shooting. Suck that, haters.

  14. hotpocketthrowaway

He’s not the first scoring option even without those two. There’s other guys taking and missing wide open shots. Scoring is not his main role.

  15. just_so_irrelevant

Simmons was not our first scoring option. He never will be. Tonight was great from him. Lets just hope he keeps improving and move on.

Whys everyone acting like this statline is horrendous? Minus the turnovers it’s really good and as the sole ballhandler 7 turnovers isn’t unheard of. I don’t like him either but I don’t think this game gives you that much ammunition against him.

In what world is this guy worth 30 million lmao. If your getting paid 30 million, you better be a number 2 option on a team ready to bring out big numbers when your number 1 is injured

Gotta point out he was +3 while the other starters were a horror show.

When are we going to stop pretending Ben Simmons is not just a role player

  21. oldskoolchevy

Ben Simmons scored 42 points as recently as 2021. Against the DPOY. How does that feel like a lifetime ago?

  22. oldskoolchevy

Scored more than James Harden tonight.

    *who won the trade?*

  23. Curious_North_8479

Some of the people defending this guy forget he’s getting paid almost 40 mil a year and just the former No. 1 pick. Not a decent role player getting paid 5 mil a year.
