In Episode 1323, Sean Woodley goes solo to break down the Toronto Raptors’ most inexcusable loss of the season — a 130-122 dud against the Milwaukee Bucks without Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton, and with a fouled-out Brook Lopez in the fourth quarter. Off the top, Sean dives into why this is easily the most embarassing loss of the season, and breaks down the offensive and defensive shortcomings that contributed to the loss. Despite a big time game from Fred VanVleet (39 points) and Gary Trent Jr. (28 points), the offense simply couldn’t keep pace with the Bucks’ three-point barrage. Next, Sean runs through the Good (Precious Achiuwa, again), the Bad (O.G. Anunoby’s rushed offense and wonky fit with the Raptors starters right now) and the Hmm (Whatever the hell Brook Lopez was doing before he got ejected), before taking a look at the latest from Jake Fischer and Shams Charania on the trade landscape, specifically Gary Trent Jr., O.G. Anunoby and Fred VanVleet and rumours tying GTJ to the Charlotte Hornets, and VanVleet with the Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns.

HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY
GÀRY TRENT JR ❤️💕💐
FANS LOVE YOU 💖💞💞☺️
I’ve been pretty negative about this core for atleast 2 years but even I feel depressed about how this is playing out. Change is scary but sometimes it’s needed to grow in the long term.
Honestly I can't believe I'm saying this but maybe you do trade OG at the dead line if his asking price is really as high as everyone is saying it is and I don't think his value will ever be higher than it is right now. Maybe a Fred and OG trade at the deadline can net the raptors enough assets to rebuild or retool, and you can now resign Gary as well. I'm also not blaming Fred for this loss he did well but he still can't defend, couldn't even stop Allen.
I don't get it. How can you call it patience to freak out part way through a development season? Especially when Ujiri, Webster and Nurse have been saying that a) development isn't linear, b) it's going to be ugly at times, c) The team is still ridiculously young. The truth is that we are already in a rebuild. It wasn't a traditional "blow it up," but all the vets from the championship year were gone by last year. The reasons why we've been losing has been a lack of experience and reps, and we lost this one to a veteran laden team that still has all their championship depth. It's not surprising that we lost down the stretch after playing an overtime game the night before.
We're not playing mistake-free basketball yet, not even close. But how does panicking serve development? How does a panic trade serve development? Let's face it, patience means letting the team develop through the ugly games. There's no other path. And it's not a disaster that we have a down year instead of a first or second round exit. All it means is a better draft pick, and this draft class has studs throughout the entire lottery.
Chill.
When did the last time the raptors won a game with FVV is the majority of the team points. This season none.
I've been watching this sport for nearly 35 years . Tossing a player out for ripping another player's headband off is probably the lowest of the lows of this soft league . And I'm a raptors fan btw .
yes!!!! blow it up!!! blow it to bits!!! loving it
Your statements show you saw what happened, you just need to analyze it. Players were moving the ball in the 1st half. 2nd half Fred stopped playing that way and went hero ball which has a negative effect on the rest of the team.
The Raptors are very similar to the Lakers this season as both teams are talented, but the roster doesn't fit together
This was a necessary loss. Its time to embrace a change. Get younger, more athletic, and get some offensively gifted players. The last thing we need is a project that cant score.
Yes no Khris or Giannis wow.. Horrible
The Raptors offense is horrible because of coaching.. Everyone has caught up to Raptors defense holes
Your comment about OG rings true. I see Chris take similar shots. Most of the time the Raps offence is the Fred and Pascal show, no one else even touches the ball. In fact the ball often does not even get below the foul line and players are just standing around. Hard to explain the poor chemistry on this team after a strong finish last year. But clearly these guys do not fit well together.
Jalen Mcdaniels is a UFA not RFA
There’s no way Lopez deserved to be ejected. He was being held by Trent, swiped a head band then was pushed by Raptors players.
