    Trade Dame and start over. He's one of the worst defenders ever among star quality players. I understand he loves Portland (like I do) and Portland loves him back but the Blazers will never be more than an occasionally interesting 'might have been' if he's the center piece. His trade value right now would bring a huge haul to the Blazers. This reminds me of the last half decade of Kobe's career in LA. Absurdly large nostalgia contract for a huge fan favorite to reward him for what he had done for the franchise. But it completely wrecked the Lakers for many years because they didn't get realistic from a basketball pov.

    Let’s trade Simons for Markelle, Fultz and Mo Bamba? Also let’s get OG Anunoby for Josh Hart and Nasir Little and two first round picks unprotected.

    Dame’s at his highest trade value and offers the most for a trade partner. With the team in ownership flux, the FO won’t commit any meaningful help for Dame over the Cap. That should be enough to demand a trade since no moves may not be made of any effect whatsoever. If Dame wants a championship, it can’t be done in this situation, and he should be demanding a trade in private ala Drexler.
