Simmons is done. If he’s on the Nets next year KD and Kyrie won’t be.

Wow this is definitely a burner account for somebody.
Accomplished is that you? Couldn’t be happy with just shitting on our guys in r/nba anymore?
FinancialsThrowaway2
This is going to cost us a playoff game.
Don’t let goobers here tell you otherwise

Joe’s wide open. But still, dunk that shit
jonnysnowballs
Ben’s gotta dunk that shit. I have to say tho, Joe’s form waiting for this pass is absolutely textbook- hands up, body square, knees slightly bent. Showing my kid this.

Inexcusable.
Can’t remember if it was this play but he turned down a similar opportunity and it became a shot-clock violation. He makes everybody’s jobs harder in the half-court.
The endless screen and stares, picking up his dribble at half-court, refusing to look at the rim and endless hot-potato with guys like Royce and Joe. That’s bad offense.
Even in transition he gives the ball up way too early sometimes.
Padulsky21
What time during the game was this? I wanna watch the replay instead of a screenshot. Need more context bc I can’t remember this from during the game
Zealousideal_Line340
kyrie yelled at him right after this 🤣
balldontlie3030
We know… let’s hope he could play some good basketball and build up his value so we could trade him, he’s good when the team is whole but he obviously is a liability in many ways
Brooklyn917
I forgot how this possession ended but I know they came up empty and Kyrie immediately was screaming his name when he was running up the court. I don’t know how much longer they’re gonna deal with this from him, not only he doesn’t have his athleticism back he’s still dealing with a mental block.
lospantaloonz
maybe he’s hesitant because it could wind up being a shooting foul and that’s the last place he wants to be? he’s gotta dunk that shit, but that could be his reasoning.
TheMoorNextDoor
Yea that’s a terrible look lmao
Ok-Hovercraft-606
Dude would be an amazing 6th man for any team in the nba. His defensive energy, rebounding and playmaking ability for others would be invaluable.
But he would have to understand his role and be willing to take a pay cut because he’s just not an all star anymore.
ScutumSobiescianum
Eerie similarity with the playoff game with the 76ers. Then all hell broke loose
LessNefariousness380
It’s because he knows he’s horrible at shooting free throws so he doesn’t want to drive through contact. At least that’s my personal assumption
Go and look at the entire possession before judging him. Play happens at 9:15 in the second quarter, roughly 4-5 seconds on the clock.
Kai dumps it off inside, pass is slightly ahead of Ben, THT rotates on him (He probably gets fouled there and y’all definitely wouldn’t want that). He passes out to wide open Joe at the top of the key, who gives up the shot and passes to wide open Royce, who also passes up the shot and we get a shot clock Turnover.
Not saying Ben is faultless here, but his pass creates two wide open looks which our shooters refuse to shoot.
Anybody can post a SS to make a pass look bad, especially because of Ben’s past issues. But go and look at all his shot attempts yesterday and tell me they looked good.
I’d rather Ben have 0/9/13/3/2 than 6/9/5/2.
Because atleast most of those 13 assists will be good shots, 3 pointers, etc.
Him driving and kicking is far more valuable than a short hook/floater which he almost always bricks.
watch the ben simmons ban in their head make a excuse for him here too….dude is just broken most soft as wannabe ive ever seen in sport….

Let me help out you Simmons haters. His role, on every play, is to create a good shot for a teammate. Also to play solid defense and keep opposing players below their season averages, set screens to free up shooters, grab rebounds, play with pace and get steals and blocks. By all those measures, he is succeeding in helping the team. We have plenty of scorers and quality shooters. The game is way more than how many points you score. Could he still improve? yep. Could his injury and surgery still be impacting his play, definitely. Does he have a mental block? probably. In other words, he can only improve as he gets healthy both physically and mentally. Does he deserve to start and play big minutes right now? hell yes.

Trade Gobert for Ben Simmons, helps the wolves and gobert comes off the bench or clax goes to the 4 and gobert at the 5
wawasmoothies
As long as this doesn’t happen in the playoffs. oh wait
TnL17
HE DOES THIS EVERY FUCKING NIGHT!!
Seriously, he’s embarrassing to watch. And once he kicks it out, he either goes to set a screen, or waits at the perimeter for the offense to reset. No one’s guarding him at the 3pt line when he has the ball in his hands. Defense then clogs the lanes or double teams the hot hand.
_Wado3000
Y’all asking Kyrie to drop 50 a night in KD’s absence and don’t wanna hold this soft ass dude accountable smh
BigCollarsAndBallers
We know he isn’t going to really look to score but the bigger issue is he doesn’t seem to have any idea how to impact the game in the halfcourt.
At least be active and re-engage in plays when you screen and give up the ball initially.
Also, push the tempo more. If you grab the rebound or someone kicks it ahead, push tempo and try to get the defense scrambled. Idc if Kyrie or KD are calling for it. Force everyone to play at your tempo and push the ball.

People already pointed this out but Ben did not have an automatic dunk if you think that was the case. Why post a screenshot and not the video clip?
