I know we’re grasping at straws here, in so much as him even looking angrily at the rim gets me hyped up but…
My goodness that stretch from 3rd quarter to the start of 4th, especially the and 1 at the end of 3rd and the lay in after destroying Harrell was something else. Felt like I was finally seeing a Basketball player out there rather a corpse of one.
I appreciate his defence, playmaking and rebounding, but I fuckin love when he scores, and scores with authority.
Hopefully Philly lit up something in him again, something he was starting to gain in that stretch in Kings, Blazers, Memphis and Philly games early November before his injury.
Would love a 20/10 game vs Detroit with the win.

He was wearing a back brace on the bench. I initially thought he was just scared to score, but it seems he’s just not too confident in his back yet and thinks we can get better looks with his passing.
I thought Philly playing lax defense on him was necessary for his confidence still though

Honestly it seemed more like he was fed up with the crowd and wanted his revenge moment. I truly think the injury is what’s holding him back the most and when fully healthy he won’t be aggressive but just aggressive enough.

He is a key to our season.
First I will say that this game removed all concerns I have about potentially meeting the Sixers in the playoffs. They are toast in 5 or 6.
Boston is our target and concern. With the new Clax 2.0 and a healthy KD, we may already be at chip level trade or no trade.
However, if we can get a hypnotist/medicine man/Ms Leo to wake Ben up, I truly believe we become the best team in the NBA.
If not a Ben reincarnation, I am hoping Marks makes the big splash and moves Joe for a big at that salary level.
Kyrie’s comments post-game were interesting/telling on Ben: “He just made a choice to put his head down, be aggressive for our team, and we need him to do that. Just came to the bench and encouraging him as we do every single day, so when he’s aggressive like that, being Ben Simmons, then we look very, very good and it gives us opportunities that sometimes we don’t get if he’s not. So, we’re just going to keep supporting him and just him to continue to do that.”
To me, this reads like it’s an effort/psyche thing more than an injury holding him back. Teammates will usually say when it’s an injury… but who knows. Good to see they’re still pumping him up and giving him encouragement.

He should just start to pass the ball thru the hoop. He would be one of the best ‘free throw passers’ in the league.
Big-Candle91
Imagine if he actually attempted 10-15 shots a game
just_so_irrelevant
Pretty sure he realized that in that 22 point game against Portland too. Hopefully tho this game awakened smth in him that will stick.

Not a good sign when Watanabe had more dunks last night than Simmons

Ben and Claxton will be the Nets demise come playoff time. Ben barely played in the fourth because all we were going to do was foul him. They’ll be unplayable in close playoff games down the stretch. I can’t wait.
Claxton played like an all-star last night tho.
YukiKondoHeadkick
The most overrated player ever? Although to be fair the majority of NBA fans never rated him too highly. Only the “did you see he was dating a Kardashian?” fans did.
Thinkblu3
Seriously tho: Who in their right minds unironically watches a sixers game? They are the single most annoying team in the entire NBA. I don’t get how anyone can look at someone like embiid or harden playing like they do and think “yeah this looks fun”.

Ben needs to return to his old state aka https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/10/ben-simmons-made-karl-anthony-towns-tap-out-in-wild-nba-fight
Then the healthy Nets win the ring
