Ric Bucher is not a reliable reporter

This has sorta been reported/indicated by others but Ric Bucher saying it doesn’t solidify the reporting

Fred wants this deal AND he’s joining Klutch Sports??? Ya he’s leaving Toronto for sure 🥲💔

he’s played well recently. but if we’re gonna make trade deadline moves, the timeline doesn’t fit anymore.

you could say Siakam is the same age, but Siakam’s game will age more gracefully and I feel like he generally has less wear and tear having started basketball at a late age.

Holy fuck I didn’t realize how savage Twitter is, “I honestly think he’s closer to being out the league than getting 130 mil lmao”

  5. This is old news, was reported way back in the summer.

  6. It’s more like 4yrs 120 mil since Herro has incentives. That’s not much off from the 4yrs 114 mil the raps offered him, so that leads me to believe the numbers aren’t as far off as everyone thinks

Yeah, not here. Another team can take that on, thank you very much.

Genuinely curious to find out If he’ll leave Toronto If he doesn’t get it from us. A few teams may be be desperate enough to pay him that type of money, but he’ll be leaving a City and country he’s lived in for years as well as saying goodbye to Pascal which he’s really good friends with, guess we’ll find out soon whether he’s about the money or the franchise

He’ll be one knee tweak away from being the worst contract in the league. If he loses even half a step, he can’t shoot at all and his defense goes to shit. A 4 year 130 mill contract for a dude already showing signs of slowing down will kill us.

Guys, I think Fred might have a gambling addiction. He bettin’ on himself too much.

  11. Shooting below 40% from the field (39%), the worst shooter this season is Tim Hardaway Jr (38.4%). Fred is getting closer to 30 and already showing a decline, he’s a scoring guard. He’s not a great playmaker. I wouldn’t give him 130mill, Tyler hero is younger , bigger and shows more potential (he could be an all star one day). I’m sure some team will overpay for Fred and I hope it’s not us.

Four years? He can bet on himself all he wants, but I’m gonna bet that contract would be a real problem for us not too far down the road.

He does have character, so he will work hard for every minute of his contract, but I don’t think he can be productive much longer.

As a Raps fan, I’d pass on that deal. NBA defenders have figured out how to attack Fred’s skill set, and I would expect a further decline in averages as he ages, provided his usage rate maintains status quo. While I will always have a soft spot for him from his time in TO and the championship run, I believe the price is too high.

  14. ✌🏻👋🏻🚶🧳Bye Bye Fredlicia. Love you forever and sincerely thank you for everything you’ve done for us

Whether accurate or not, this smells like something that was leaked by someone with an agenda. Given the timing, that is doubly so.

Specifically, someone is trying to deter teams from trading for FVV. It could be FVV’s camp that leaked it to deter the Raptors from trading him.

Or it could be another team that is in trade negotiations with the Raptors who leaked it to scare off other suitors.

I can’t imagine this being a legit “leak”. It feels completely intentional.

  16. LittiHDarkKnight

If I were the raptors I would trade FVV, OG and Chris Boucher.

  17. ResolveLost2101

I don’t understand what so many fans are Loyal to FVV when what he clearly care about is his bag and his bag. He’s phenomenal player don’t get me wrong but he can’t be #2 here in Toronto. And paying a man 33mil/year for what he does for Raptors, nahhhhh I’m sorry. We want a second ring and we won’t be getting one if we’re too attached to players. Even Kyle and DeMar was traded yo
