Trail Blazers lose to Toronto Raptors + Who Is Portland Looking to Move Ahead of the Trade Deadline?

The Portland Trail Blazers had another horrible start on Saturday night. And it didn’t end much better as they lost to the Toronto Raptors 123-105 at the Moda Center. We wade through yet another dismal open to the game and then move on to what’s next with this team.

13:05 – The Blazers are reportedly open to moving both Josh Hart and Jusuf Nurkic, according to sourced reporting from Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports. What would a trade for the Blazers center look like? Is there an upgrade out there?

25:11 – Finally, Jerami Grant reportedly turned down his max contract extension offer when it was offered to him at the beginning of January. That sounds worse than it is. Grant is very likely to remain in Portland for the long-term and waiting to sign an extension until the offseason gives him the path to more money and a longer contract.

  1. Mike can you please ask Chauncey why Grant and Little were guarding Vanfleet and Trent Jr on the perimeter, while Dame and Ant are guarding Barnes and Siakim down low. The scheme seems idiotic.

  2. I have a hard time finding the reason why we are playing that Bad. If you look at the roster, many Teams are doing much more with much less star Power. For the First time in years we have many Wings that can defend and also make shots Like Grant, Nassir and Josh, and we also have Defense and a great Back Up Point guard in Gp2. Taking a Look at the First 10-15 games this season, man this Team had so much energy we were defending, running Up and down the court in Transition and playing not the best but good offense. Suddenly all stopped and i really dont know why. We are so static, it Looks like we only Play Isolation. No Cuts, no quick ball movement no off ball screens its just painful to watch and the fact that we have the best Roster we had in recent years it hurts even more.

  3. To tell ya the truth I think we whiffed on chauncy and I don't like his vibe at all especially with the younger gen

  4. Gimme some names that cooooould work and would be a 5 we can be better with😎

  5. I'd Argue your idea that the slow starts aren't on the coaching staff…
Putting Grant on small ball handlers and other "bigs" at the top of the zone, leaving Dame and Ant alone in the middle is leading to other teams starting strong and defeating our own energy.

  6. i woke up from a dream…was so wonderful…in a shocking sequence of moves, the blazers dealt every single veteran player of theirs, including mr lillard (desptie his wishes to stay). The Blazers acquired a ridiculous haul of unprotected draft picks and some very promising young players to accompany anfernee simons and shaedon sharpe. Suddenley, they started losing games but Sharpe got to play 35 plus minutes a game. He was allowed to learn on the job. Oh, they also fired Billups and got in a coach better at development, Kenny Atkinson….Simons shined more than ever in the lead role and suddenly players like jabari walker started to show potential. They were bad and ended up with the 6th worst record in the nba. They got lucky in the lottery and were able to take scoot henderson at 2! They had acquired Mitch Robinson, immanuel quickley, and RJ Barrett in the trade so suddenly they had a nice set up. For all of their other vets they got a ton of random unprotected pics that they used in different years to acquire new pieces….Then my dream fast forwarded to 2025 and they were in the same position the grizzlies find themselves in today. There was finally optomism and excitment around….Then i woke up and realized none of this will happen. We will stay in the same place until Dame loses all trade value. Only charlotte, chicago, and maybe washington are in worst overall long term "middle of nowhere" positions as Portland…. Sharpe's development could be halted (not for sure), and 2025 will come around and the team will likely still be in the same position as usual…..nothing new being a blazers fan.

  7. Nurk only struggles vs certain types of C..long athletic pick n roll/dunk C.. paying other C like Ayton over 30mil is insane for Portland to consider since we try to be as cheap as possible
