It makes sense from his standpoint. Beat case for PP is he helps get a ring and then goes and gets paid/consistent pt somewhere

  2. As much as I hate to see this guy leave I’m not going to blame him for going. He obviously deserves better

  3. nicklovin508

I hope he works on his weaknesses between now and then. If he was on a bad team that needed him to player 28+ minutes a night I think it would do more harm than help him.

  4. xfortehlulz

he deserves it he’s a good player he could be a great 7th man for a good team

  5. Single_Chicken254

He definitely needs to get traded asap right?

  6. Jiangarang

Damn. I’m going to miss him. It’s a shame our guards are so good that we can’t get him enough minutes.

  7. Ok-Year1832

wishing all good things for our precious PP!

  8. CopiumAddiction

He is under contract next season too. No hurry to get a trade done.

  9. freejoeexotic69

I love this guy. I love him as a Celtic. I want him to succeed, and I think if he needs to leave and find a bigger role, I’m ok with that.

  10. ChickenJesus

He’s better than the role he has but obviously not a starter material. He wont ever get his proper opportunity here

  11. Man is already 25 and he still has two years left on his rookie deal. Can’t blame him man. He entered the league as an older player and he’s not gonna have as much time to make money as other players. Playing behind three guards who are all better than him and don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Can’t blame him for wanting to go somewhere where he can play more often.

  12. I love his hustle and when his shot is falling he’s a great addition to the bench. However, he’s a complete defensive liability and constantly finds himself in mismatches. Offenses scheme around him being on the floor. Not to mention he’s almost always useless trying to get anything off in the paint. That being said, he’s got hustle and IQ and should be able to make it on another team

  13. ChallengeAfter

Yeah I mean it’s just the worst situation for him here there’s literally 3 starter quality point guards in front of him

  14. Nitelyte

He’s signed for 2 more years lol. He isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

  15. socialistbcrumb

Sounds like it’s time to look to trade him if you can get a piece that would get more minutes (a wing or center)

  16. Jawnny-Jawnson

Why can’t PP start guard or back up PG at this point? Move smart to SG and let him start or be a direct sub for Smart while Derick white stays in SG position

  17. BigAustralianBoat

He’s a dog and he’s fearless. Absolutely sucks for him because:

    20-21: 19.2 minutes
    21-22: 14.1 minutes
    22-23: 12.5 minutes

Imagine getting better every year and having your minutes decline. Must be tough.

Also his stats are down, yes, but you try shooting at an elite clip at 12.5 minutes per game.

  18. doodleb0b69

It’ll be a bummer but how can you blame him? He deserves to at least see if there are more minutes available to him on another roster

  19. jlpulice

Hard to blame him when Brogdon’s bench role has basically replaced him and then some

  20. TH3_ZucC

Understandable. He deserves to play a bigger role but it’s not gonna happen on this team.

  21. Dondon1927

One of the more underrated rebounders we have

  22. tarheel343

Understandable. He’s just a bit too good to be the 4th best guard on a team.

Typically you’d have either a really young guy or a vet in that position, not someone who’s entering their prime playing years.

  23. _PercCobain_

This is now a good reason to trade him before the deadline, if he’s gone might as well get something out of it

  24. jeffers0n_steelflex

I’d rather see him take on a bigger role

  25. sneeder86

Bench players talking like starters I hate it

  26. Tha_Contender

It’s tough. He’s not better than DWhite or Brogdon obviously but the addition of those guys has eaten into his minutes. But he has proven on multiple occasions he can hit the big shot or spark a run off the bench when we need it (Hello Nets Game 2 last year). Don’t trade him because I’d hate to face him as a 6th/7th man on a good team in the playoffs against us. Just ride it out and go our separate ways once that contract is up. PP is a great piece on any team.

  27. Georgia4life

Pritchard could easily start on a below 500 team and be a solid backup for a above 500 team.

  28. xHospitalHorsex

Eric Demers licking his chops right now.

  29. Ferfuxache

It’s the right move for him. He will then drop a 35 point this is what I do game on us

  30. Macjonesdefisntgay

Great attitude to have lol. I like PP but he’s a role player plain and simple, I only see him getting 20 mins regularly on rebuilding teams

  31. BradWonder

He’s still under contract next year though

  32. What he should do is play abroad. Australia would LOVE him

  33. dru_jones

Brad probably debating whether PP trade value higher in season and if he decides it is, time to strike is now!

If PP is traded and team’s top three PG’s go down, ride it out with who’s healthy while loudly cursing the basketball gods.

  34. According_Smoke_479

I won’t blame him when he does. He’s a player I’ll be keeping tabs on even when he’s no longer a Celtic. Dude has heart and hustle and I think he has a ton of potential that’s unfortunately being wasted on a team that’s stacked in his position

  35. Bernthewalldown

He could start on other teams so I don’t blame him

  36. sling_dinger

It sucks because when Boston plays like shit, he is the guy who can light a fire under their ass with his play. He’s literally a spark plug.

  37. Laszlo-Panaflex

I like PP and the energy he brings when he’s in, but he strikes me as the next player who’ll be overpaid because the Celtics system made them look better than they are. His shooting stats have gone down each year. His advanced stats aren’t great. His passing stats are league average or worse, which is bad for an undersized PG.

Whoever pays him to be anything more than to be a sparkplug off the bench will be disappointed.

  38. I can’t blame him. He wants to be a starter or at least the backup PG on a good team.

  39. Drizzlybear0

I get people like Pritchard and want to see him stay but it makes far more sense to trade him IF there is a good trade out there for a true backup big or backup wing.

When Smart comes back we will be running the double bigs with him meaning essentially Grant is the backup wing and backup big since Hauser is unplayable.

This season is not about the regular season, it’s about the playoffs, when playoffs start the starter minutes go WAY up and Smart and Brogdon will be soaking up all the PG minutes, now you can say “What if two of Smart/Brogdon/White go down” and the answer is if that happens odds are we don’t make it far in the playoffs regardless of if Pritchard plays or not. Tatum however cannot keep playing 40+ minutes in the regular season and Rob and Al need a legitimate backup.

If we can get deals done without trading PP let’s do it but if it takes trading him to get a legitimate backup wing or big we absolutely need to do it.
