I would make the trade, DFS has not been playing well for a while
If I were to make a trade with Utah involving DFS, I would make the following trade:
Utah to Dallas – the following:
LAURI MARKKANEN (PF) $16,475,454 for Three Years Rating:79
Dallas to Utah – the Following:
Dorian Finney-Smith (PF) $12,402,000 for Four Years Rating: 79
JaVale McGee (C) $5,461,219 for Three Years Rating: 76

Lauri is a clear upgrade over DFS. We would be getting rid of JaVale's contract and Utah's front office would have the ammo to improve. They clearly want a quick rebuild.

Finney smith as one of them few guys on a long term deal that makes sense with lukas timeline for a championship run, unless a deal involving him brings back a true 20 point a night on average starter who has position flex and can play defense and their contract isnt insane then i would say no. I would rather trade everyone else besides luka, and DFS and rebuild around them with DFS being the glue that holds a team together
Honestly… you gotta shake this roster up and at least get some assets or clear some cap space. I feel like they are in a gridlock, so if you can get a few picks or package him with some bad contracts you do it. They aren’t winning the chip this year without a miracle trade so you gotta look at the future of the organization instead of this season.

With the emergence of Ochai Agbaji I dont see the Jazz bing anxious to make this trade, Unless they are passing on Rudy Gay and maybe beasley. Zero chance its markannen or walker. And it will take more for Clarkson.
You don’t trade Dorian, unless you get someone the same size or bigger, plays as good defense, and scores/rebounds in the 20/10 avg per game. He is too valuable and he plays great with Luka. He is also young and on a similar timeline as Luka, we don’t want an old guy coming to Dallas (especially to be a 2 and cost a lot).

The only reason to go trading with Jazz is to go on full rebuild. They won't give what Mavs need, nor will Mavs give them what they want. Unless one of them gives up their franchise star.
The only trade I would consider for DFS is if we get Og but if we did make a trade with the Jazz I would do DFS for Jordan Clarkson
If Jazz want DFS I imagine they are giving Clarkson up and or Sexton/ Conley obviously dallas would have to match salaries
Mavs should aim for, Ben Simmons. Play him exactly like Dwight Powell, except he's taller, faster, better defender, better rebounder, and can pass like a PG, but from C. I think he's big enough to play C and he can defend all positions without the deficit most big men have, he can't shoot and doesn't want to learn but mavs already have success playing centers like that. His value has to be bottomed out atm so I don't see why they couldn't make this happen.
Currently Its Luka-Dinwiddie-Dodo-Christine Wood and Green. Anyone else could be on the way out, including Wood if they can’t extend him in the next 10 days. They should just come out and say they aren’t extending Wood at the number he’s demanding and start taking

Doing nothing isn’t an option with Wood because we can not give this guy 4-5 years. Get Toronto, Chicago,Knicks,hawks or Wiz on the line and get it done. Because we have to trade Wood means we should probably just move the other three as well.
As a jazz fan I would not even do this deal D.F.S for Vanderbilt straight up. Jared is 6 years younger a 3x cheaper contract, both defensively minded and offensively Vanderbilt is statistically better in nearly every way. This can't be a legit report.

P!!!! He is the mavericks version of Dremond Green. He means more to this team than just what the numbers say!!!! He is our defensive anchor. A guy in his prime that actually WANTS to be here. He can’t be replaced. I believe if the mavs are completely healthy, Kleiber, wood, etc. we are contenders.
