Defense is not the problem. Offense is the problem.
And that’s because LaVine has struggled, the Bulls stop going through Vucevic in the second half of games, and DeRozan, despite his success, can’t do it alone. The offense becomes predictable and our leads collapse.
Also, if not for the Bulls the Pacers would be 0-10 in the last 10.

Best defense is not something i would have expected lol.
If anything it makes me optimistic about the future after this big three core has run its course. Ayo and Pat are absolute studs on defense and along with caruso they have done so well to carry this defense without lonzo or javonte. DJJ has been good on D as well

We still can’t seem to get it together, though. Like they were 3 under .500 on Nov 21st. They just have a special talent of finding ways to lose games .

First is crazy because we’re 5-5
But defense has never been the biggest issue under BD. His first year we were t10 most of the season and finished 12th. Last year pre-ASB we were 5th but had a horrible end to the season. This season we had a t10 defense for the first 18 games and we’ve been pretty good since mid December (after the Timberwolves game)
The biggest issue has always been the offense. We had the 4th best offense with Lonzo. Mediocre to bad without him

The team having good defense isn’t shocking to me, that tracks with the eye test.
It’s the offensive scheme and execution for me. Zach has cooled off, DeMar scores a lot of points but he’s been in a small slump too, and Vuc just keeps getting frozen out in the clutch lol. Definitely gotta figure it out.
