  1. What is the point of 2nd rd. Picks if when you hit on one (McDaniels) you trade him away for other 2nd rd picks???

  2. LaMelo is there to cash in. That’s about it. He will most certainly not win any championship there unless they get wembanyama and both of them become a force to be reckoned with. But I highly doubt that.

  3. Okay, I actually really like the fact that we got back another 2023 pick and its essentially a top 35 to boot. If we are planning on resigning PJ and were going to let Jalen go anyway (I would assume he's worth 12-15 million on the open market), this actually works. Svi is pretty much irrelevant here, the important thing is having 3 very good players in next years draft, including one we can hopefully build something around. I'm imaging a lot of scenarios where we can improve through the draft next year. 2027 top 40ish is a fair return for taking on Svi's contract. Obviously not expecting a lot out of him, so anything he can give is a bonus. This trade does not look sexy in the environment of eye-poppers like Durant and Irving or even Thybulle and Hart, but I think this was the right trade. It also takes another good player off the court that puts us further into the top 7 picks. Expect to see Thor and McGowens get more minutes too, which is great. I also think this paves the way to resigning Oubre, which I'm okay with. If I had to put a letter grade on this trade, I would say B- for Hornets

This apparently is what happens when you ask Mitch to do something. The only thing worse than doing nothing is when Mitch does something. Today was desperation deals that provide no value to the Hornets outside opening up playing time at the center spot even though that could be accomplished without trading anyone. They could have gotten tremendously more value than they did. If there's not a total transition to playing the younger players, then they will continue to be unwatchable and wallowing in mediocrity going forward. This should be a message to Clifford. If he continues to give major minutes to Hayward, Rozier and Oubre it will mean he's already decided not to return next season. Also means a gross overpay for PJ in the off-season. Mitch now has enough of his own Hornets track record to show he's not able to build a consistent winning program.

  5. I just think guys worse than mcdaniels and plumlee went for a lot more so that’s the most frustrating part. Like 5 seconds for Gary Payton and 5 seconds for Jae crowder. Also why not move Oubre for anything. I feel like contenders would’ve offered one second for Oubre.
