The Detroit Pistons made one trade at the deadline and it involved moving on from fan-favorite Saddiq Bey, who’s on his way to the Atlanta Hawks. In return, the Pistons have received James Wiseman, who was at the top of Troy Weavers draft board back in 2020. Was this the right move for the Pistons and Weaver to make?

Pistons have size in abundance. Interested to see what Wiseman can do on a team that can give him pt.
⛹🏽♂️Ku just exposed every delusional piston fan out here and he made this trade make a 100 percent more sense a bench player for a bench player with possibly more potential sounds like a fair deal to me keep it up ku it’s a reason why your the lock on piston hosts KU just cooked all y’all low IQ fans 💯
Ku doing his sponsor commercials are is pure entertainment LOL! 🤣
Isaiah Stewart to the bench? Duren is too good to sit…
Warriors took a cricket player wtf?!😂
I wonder how much he would’ve wanted in N extension. I think it’s rather short sighted to trade Bey and hold on to Bojan
We gave up one of the most healthiest players for a injury prone one. Availability is the best ability!!!!
I haven't seen Wiseman do anything close to think he worth a this trade but IF given the chance and IF he can stay healthy maybe. Gotta admit the potential is there.
That’s the BEST and most REAL review of this trade! Let’s all be honest now that Saddiq is not here anymore…
– He’s an awful defender
– Extremely inconsistent
– He got worst in his shooting since his rookie season
– He DOESNT worth a first round pick!
PERIOD!
We got James Wiseman who’s a 21yo kid who DIDNT play in the NBA as Ku said!
Common let’s give the kid some time to prove himself!
And write this down: Saddiq will play 15 minutes with the Hawks and will become not even a decent role player in the future! He’s not good! We were high on him cuz he was in our team!
Great analysis Ku!
I love your take on this trade. Facts 💯 I Agree!!!
When I look at it the way you do, I agree. Either we get Wembanyama or Scoot or draft a wing. Or pick up a wing like Harrison Barnes in free agency. So I guess Saddiq had to go.
Glad we got rid of that Ricky Davis re-gen. I might actually watch another game now that I know that one blackhole is off of the team. Might see some ball movement.
Tbh, I like Bey a lot and hate to see him go. However, I kinda saw this coming; I just don’t think Detroit was a good fit for his playing style and at times too inconsistent – can have 8 points one game and then 24 the next game. And maybe that’s due to the coaching staff playing him poorly. I’ve seen ppl say trade Killian, but that would be a terrible mistake. Killian is a floor general, and starting to develop a better shot. He has good assist numbers every game – tbh if it wasn’t for him getting his teammates looks, the scores when they lose would prolly be a lot worse.
This is a good trade this shows there’s alot of people out here that knows nothing about basketball! The pistons main problem was size first and foremost stew and duren are really PFs they just play bigger, even MB3 is a PF forreal but size kills us GS was a horrible fit for him as long as he can stay healthy he will be just fine with us!
I'm not for sure, but I did watch some highlights of him and he appears to have a presence in the post if he really wants it…..and looks like he could potentially have a lil midrange touch.
I got tired of Saddiq never passing the ball and playing no defense. Also sick of middling centers dropping 20/10 on us night after night.
Bey has some production to this point in his career and still can improve, Wiseman has not any really any production to speak of…..it’s a risk from some known commodity to unknown commodity. We could have done better in the off-season
JW had a 30 point game this year also yea it was in a blowout but still he can give us 12,13 and 8,9 a game
His reclamation project players have not all worked out lately
I like the trade clear talent and potential upgrade…. Long term plan could be wiseman at center, Durren Power Forward, Stewart big of the bench… Durren- Wiseman front court is very intriguing….
I think Duren could easily play the 4 , he has show a decent jump shot which he can expand upon and he has good lateral quickness
More minutes for Hami!
Why trade for Wiseman, when we already have Duren, Stewart and Marvin Bagley? 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Appreciate this video man, I needed the new perspective. The reason I'm upset with this trade was I became a basketball fan in 2020 and I chose the Pistons (for some reason). Stew and Bey where the main players that kept me going that first season and during cades absence. So to give him up for a player I don't really value, hurt a lot.
Glad I can finally come to a comment section with realistic points of view. Man the Weaver hate from this move is so ridiculous like he didn't flip Grant for Duren in the draft, acquire Boggy for a bag of chips, even got Burkes for basically nothing. This trade is another one that you have to think future, with a low risk high reward player in Wiseman over Bey who will be wanting a payday after next year and he just isn't the answer for our team make up. Love Sadiq but he will be tons better in Atlanta than here playing out of position on our roster
Troy Weaver hasn't made one bad move since becoming the GM with the Pistons. Everything that he brought is in part of the long-term contending, he get assets back from what he brings in short term. He is absolutely rebuilding it correctly. This is a no brainier. Wise is an improvement over stew at the 5 long term.
Pistons development sucks after players leave they always get better
Wiseman hasn't played much basketball since high school.
