I’m fine with no trade. Trades are fun but the Cavs didn’t have an opportunity for a clear upgrade & they don’t have many assets so I’m happy enjoying the team we have
Every team made a trade this week except the Wizards, Cavaliers and Bulls.
If we include January, every team has made a trade since the start of the new year except the Cavaliers and Bulls. pic.twitter.com/Rqk6qKO4Pr

I’m happy that we tried for O’Neale. Sometimes you gotta recognize when the market isn’t worth it, and if Brooklyn was asking for too much, it is what it is.
The problem is, with the advantage of hindsight, the Mitchell trade isn’t an overwhelming win anymore. It’s still a win I think, but the talent gap between he and Lauri is not as significant anymore, and they gave up almost every trade asset they had (which was a lot) to make that deal. I’m not saying they shouldn’t have ultimately made the trade, but they should have seen this coming from Lauri. He spent a year with them, and they played pretty damn well when he was in the lineup last year. They are up shit creek without a paddle for the foreseeable future in terms of being able to make roster moves. Mobley has to develop. It’s that plain and simple. If he develops into 22-10 next year, they won’t really need another piece. He should ultimately develop into 24-12 who has a J and range and a handle and be a little bit of a playmaker, who can also guard the opposing teams best player, regardless of position, and lock them down in a pivotal moment. He turns into that, Cavs will be annual title contenders.
A lot of the teams that made trades made mistakes.
Never interfere with your opposition when they are making mistakes.
And if you go back to September then it’s just the Bulls?
We have something right now that you can’t trade for: chemistry.
Keep it up, baby.
So what?
We made a big trade for Mitchell. Why trade more if the core is working? Glad we kept LeVert.
If the team is patient, I believe on draft night next year they can trade their 2024 and 2031 1st round picks. At that point they can probably grab a real upgrade at the wing if Okoro doesn’t develop.
Cavs made no moves yet are still in a better position in the Eastern Conference than before the trade deadline given the Nets dismantling. I don’t think the Hawks, Knicks, or Heat did enough to move them to favorites to overtake the Cavs. If the goal for this season to is to make the playoffs, gain playoff experience, and win a playoff series then the Cavs are in a better position to do that after the deadline than they were before.
We made our trade in the offseason
Other than KD I’m not sold on any other team actually getting that much better. I’ll hold my breath on the Mavs until Kyrie and Luka play together. Lotta mid dudes being passed around for a billion 2nd round pics
We made the biggest offseason trade IMO. Nothing to see here.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it
People also forget we already made our blockbuster trade before the season started
I think the West getting more stacked and the east getting arguably weaker, we SHOULD be top 4 and have home court advantage.
Sometimes the best move is no move at all.
GO CAVS! 👊🏻
Paying too much now is stupid. We already don’t have a lot to use, so using to much now would mean not having it in the future.
We literally have no assets to work with apart from an expiring contract in Levert so this is not surprising at all
We have 4 great players starters and a bunch of ok wings. All we could have gotten were other ok wings. May as well stand pat
Man… We traded for the biggest blockbuster deal like 8 months ago!! Haha
Given how incredibly active koby normally is, I’m actually more impressed that they showed restraint. Koby is legitimately the best gm we’ve ever had in my opinion.
It’s tempting to go all in when you’re not ready (hi timberwolves), but the best way to improve right now is playoff experience and letting our 21 and 22 year olds grow.
Uh, ok?
Personally, glad we kept LeVert and even Love a little, for chemistry at least. But not upgrading wing depth for a more sure, consistent player(s) when there were a ton of deals is not ideal. Shouldve traded Osman (expiring) for O’Neale (2 years) but I guess it was too obvious. Maybe not a big miss but it is a significant one for the playoffs and next year. His fit was damn near perfect even if he was just backing up Okoro.
We also made the biggest trade of the off-season, so…
I think we should have had opportunities to upgrade our backup bigs (i.e. Thomas Bryant or Mike Muscala), we’ve been fortunate that Allen and Mobley have been healthy but we’re going to have to play Diakite as our backup C if Allen sprains an ankle.
