    >Daryl Morey says the team is actively looking at several candidates on the buy-out market and feels the created financial flexibility will allow them to add those pieces and stay together long term.

    >Morey says that the Sixers have McDaniels’ bird rights and, as such, view him as someone they want to retain long term (he’s an FA this summer) and add to the core.

tbh given the asset management before morey’s tenure this is the only way we can move forward.

not gonna pretend I’m super familiar with jalen’s game but what little I’ve seen his offensive skillset is obviously much larger than matisse’s (which isn’t saying much) so I feel like this move was pretty logical

“Doc needs to stop playing the one way guys like Niang and Maxey”

McDaniels is actually a good pickup. I would slide this into a Melton like pickup for the team. I’ve liked him before and I’m glad he grabbed him. He’s not a standout in a sense but a decent role player and maybe spot start when needed or maybe they move him into a starter role. He’s a good wing to have on the team imo.

As far as people complaining about having Trez and others, Morey has his hands tied with that Harris contract. You need to manage minimal cap space and it affects who can sign. Hence why we have guys like Trez and Milton and had Thybulle and Reed. They’re all cheap and he went under the cap and now maybe can sign some players but it will be tough given he didn’t move Harris. I hope he can move Harris on draft night. If not, probably keeping him or next year trade deadline deal.

  6. Maybe they should’ve drafted him in the first place instead of selling draft picks.

TBH I’m not entirely sure we sold a pick in that draft, but we could’ve traded picks that year for picks in later years to accumulate basketball capital not financial capital to pay helicopter fuel costs.

Mcdaniels was definitely someone that filled a need. we just need a back up center. Hopefully Noel lands here after a buyout.

Not as much of a hidden gem as Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt vs Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio, though

If McDaniels works out, it becomes much easier to move on from Tobias or use him differently

I mean, charlotte fans are upset he’s leaving. That tells me he’s got value. He’s also a willing shooter who will theoretically get more open looks, so that bodes well.
