I would be surprised to see him play for the Jazz – but he could have the Jazz’s first regular season triple double in a while!

  2. goatmarino

Legit reckon he’d drag utah to play-offs out of spite lol

  3. FERFreak731

He can be the tank captain, apparently the Wizards players liked him, maybe Walker gets another mentor

I’ll meme during the tank, and treat him like the GOAT, if he has a 40 point, 15 rebounds, 15 assists, 12 turnovers quadruple double, in a loss, helping us tank. He’s a former MVP, so he might sell tickets getting triple, I mean quadruple doubles in 50 point losses, helping us tank

  4. StarshipFirewolf

I appreciate that he’s willing. Especially with previous bad experiences. Let’s give him a shot. It’s 3 months.

  5. Reasonable-Trick-932

Sells jerseys, brings people into seats, he’ll drop fun stat lines, commands the tank, he’ll raise his contract value for the off-season

    I mean why not

I’m still under the belief that if he wants to play here, let him play and he’ll do great. Westbrook makes his teammates better if the team is suited for him, which I believe this team is. He plays great with a rim-runner and Lauri doesn’t need the ball to score so his production will likely improve a tad bit. Then shooters? Idk we’ll see how everyone looks after this.

Younger players give nothing but praises because of his work ethic and competitiveness. If it’s something they can appreciate or respect, we can only hope they bring in that same mentality with or without. Can it also be his weakness yeah, but we’re tanking so why not get a respected vet to play? Make mends with the Jazz fans. Break that triple-double drought. Create some highlight plays. Be the vet for the younger players.

I really don’t hate him at all. I’m fully okay to see him play here and turn the narrative at least a little. If not, then good luck wherever you play man. The fact he’s even considering it is a nice gesture considering the past. Maybe a smaller market will do him good again.

No pressure here for Russ just go out and ball

  8. Russ breaking the triple double curse would be legendary!

  9. CantaloupePossible33

I just think he gets explosive a couple times and gives us a 2 extra wins and what’s the point?

  10. RedorBluePill22

Why play him 1 minute? Jazz are in full tank mode now and should embrace the suck. 500 is the WORST possible outcome for this or any NBA team. I see no upside in him playing. Let the young guys get minutes, let the L’s pile up, let the haul of draft picks get better and let him wreck someone else’s locker room.

Wouldn’t hurt to give a veteran superstar a chance

  12. epoch_fail

Stands to reason we sent out four players, including three guards, and they vacated about 32 shots a game. Some of those will go to Collin, Lauri, Walker, and Ochai, but there’s room for Westbrook and his 15 shots a game if he wants it. Obviously, we want to make sure we’re maintaining development and keeping the young guys involved, but there’s some capacity there.

I wonder if 3 months with Russ would be good for Sexton. If Sexton can get some of Russ’ playmaking chops that could be great for him long-term

  14. TheCapableFox

Bro I’m down if Russ wants to play here a bit. Memes aside dudes a great point (literally future Hall of Famer) he just sucked at LA playing with other superstars. I think he’ll do fine here.

Might even buy a #0 jersey. Lol

  15. Killyouifyouuseemoji

Can I join you guys as a Russ fan if he plays? I need mental help after what the Lakers did to do his name.

  16. Sammy_Saddles

Russ get a lot of blame, but I’ve always seen him support his teammates and ball out harder than anyone on the court. Please play for a our team! I’d definitely have a reason to but more tickets this season. Legend.

  17. SomePoorGamer

Tank commander Westbrook reporting for duty

  18. SlimmerThiccerRicc

This could legitimately change our image around the league if we make good with one of our harshest critics

  19. Jade_Jade_27

Honestly it’d be wise if they let him play. Russell has a proven history to flourish on an undermanned team where he is among the main guys. If that would increase his value then it’s worth the try.

  20. helix400

Imaging telling Jazz fans in February 2022:

“By this time next year, Russell Westbrook will end the Jazz’s triple-double drought in a yellow highlighter jersey.”

  21. Acestrik3r

Someone should tell Westbrook to come on to reddit. Lots of people wants him to be on the Jazz.

  22. m_c__a_t

the real question, is when russ wins us a chip does he get a statue?

  23. Benthebuilder23

If you believe he would ever play for the Jazz you are crazy. It’s just part of the strategy. He will never ever play for the Jazz.

  24. Rathalos88

Damn it’s nice to see people support WB for a change. Wishing him the best. He wasn’t a good fit on the Lakers but I always tuned in to watch him. He’s a very exciting player. There’s no middle ground with him. He’s always gonna give 110%. It’s a coinflip either super bad or super good.

  25. KickAndFlipJr

Could Westbrook become the player he once was?

  26. gomsgomsgom

might be my only chance to see my favorite player play in person so hope he suits up for da jazz. let russ cook!!

  27. Messageinabeerbottle

I want him to play for the Jazz and him be surprised by how much love he gets.

  28. Thamor81

Let him play, his contract will expire anyway. I want to see Russell on a team that I am fan favoring.

  29. mgartaty

I welcome this. Jazz have nothing to lose and he’s a recent MVP. Maybe the Lakers was a toxic team. He can definitely pass and if he’s bad we can play him with Gay to get Wembanyama.
