can’t say I’ve watched too much of him and anyone here who says they has is lying lmao

his stats from this year look very bad, but from 2019-22 with the pacers he averaged 10 ppg on 39% from three on good volume so there is some reason to believe he could contribute a bit and is better than what he’s shown this season with the hawks

either way a buyout signing isn’t really gonna make or break the season it’s just extra insurance on the margins

alhamdulillah no more theo pinson minutes

  3. nickthearchaeologist

Nick Angstadt and Isaac Harris fucking called it too…

what is the point of this signing, he was getting benched for rookies on that team and hasn’t performed well since very early 2021

Pacers fan that lives in Fort Worth and also roots for the Mavs here.

If he can play like he did for the Pacers, he will be a great depth piece for the Mavs. He can play great defense on wings. And he has (had) a good corner three. He’s also a great locker room guy. Low risk signing in my opinion.

Hawks fan here, you will hate him and want him gone in 10 games

  7. Dales_dead_bugs478

If he’s playing mins for you guys, that’s NOT good.

  8. Crazy that he’s already 34 but hope he’s can provide some much needed D and veteran leadership to this team

Hasn’t been the same shooter since being traded from the Pacers but a good defender. I’ll take15 minutes of Holiday over 15 minutes of Pinson/Wright/Frank. Preferred Johnson since he can handle bigger wings, but not too picky over a buyout guy.

  10. The league wasn’t happy about us getting kyrie. I imagine they will throw us out if we also manage to sign someone in the buyout market.

Hawks fan here, this man is a terrorist to the game of basketball

  12. I like it, decent shooter and defender. This also allows Theo Pinson to slide to his natural cheerleading role.

  13. Beef_Dirky

This man is basically Markieff Morris… Who has yet to see the floor for us.

Pat Bev fills an actual need I just dont understand man.

This will go down as one of the all-time signings in Mavericks history!

  15. jakeizzle18

    Woo-hoo, a 3&D player that isn’t much of a 3 and even less D. What a great pickup!

Fuck I wish we could’ve got Ross man

  16. slimeball11

Does he defend that’s all I care about kyrie Luka green THJ wood have offense covered

  17. uncleoce

I just don’t understand the strategic value this provides. Rudderless ship.

  18. Kingtyrionthe2nd

He used to be solid but how much does he have left in the tank?

  19. Lol until he signs the dotted line nothing is done

Haha. I was listening to Nick Angstad on the Locked On Mavs podcast and he and Isaac Harris were discussing buyout candidates and who they liked. Nick basically said, “I’d prefer Will Barton, Stanley Johnson, or Patrick Beverly. But the Mavs are probably going to get Justin Holiday.” Nick, if you’re lurking, well done.

    Y. We already have several players like him. Get like ibaka or some other pf/C

  22. amino110

Y’all had the same narrative about Bullock. After December, y’all did him dirty and called him washed.

Holiday is similar to Bullock. A good career shooter and a plus defender . Hopefully he can rejuvenate his season with us.

only thing I’m worried is this might lessen Jaden Hardy’s minutes. I’m liking Hardy’s development so far

  24. gsudhshhdhdhs

Hawks fan good luck hopefully he isn’t on the court much

  25. HotsHartley

I wish these reporters would just wait until he has signed on the dotted line to break the news.

This kind of “sources say” speculation just gets hopes up with risk of being wrong. Like, let rumor become reality before reporting it as news. 🤦🏿‍♂️
