So summary of rockets trade deadline to my understanding:
1) nets blew up team so if they are tanking then we benefit from the harden trade tremendously
2) sent Bruno and matthews who I have np with since they are dog for 2 trash expiring veterans which will free up cap and roster space and obtained 2 2nd rd picks via okc
3) sent Gordon to clips to move up from the bucks pick hopefully 10-12 spots and got wall (which will be waived) and Danny green
Rockets are cleaning off their books for next season. Fernando, Gordon and Matthews off the books is close to $60M. Getting Wall's contract and waiving him is $10-$11M. If they keep Green or waive him that's $6.9M off the books. That's between $70M-$80M they'll have.
This will open up roster spots and min for our young guys. Way to clean up!
For what's it's worth, will miss Bruno, he started to really up his game the past 2 weeks….dropping some games of 3-5 blocks per is always nice and at the last game he showed he really worked on his paint game to finish at the basket
Man love y’all’s takes! I really hope we can make a trade with the Nets eventually! I think we would get top dollar for the picks we have , that we all know they want back so they can call they own future
The Nets got some quality players and picks in return so they may not be as bad as some think. The Jazz are playing better then expected after their trades. At 1st glance I didn’t like what stone did but swapping picks and opening up minutes for JC and others is a good thing. It would of been nice to add a veteran pt g but it looks like Stone is riding with the young core. It’s good to see Gordon end his career where it started. Bones was a nice pickup for them. The Clipps could surprise some teams in the playoffs if they could ever stay healthy.
So I been thinking n a trade with the Nets makes the most sense n this is why . The Nets have a whole bunch of vets that are defensive minded. Essentially they are jazz of the east . If they keep all those guys for the next 3 yrs they still will be decent meaning that they don't really have to tank. But it would be better to do so to do a proper rebuild. With that in mind I think you can easily trade the 24 1st n the 25 swap at the minimum. Now depending on the draft , if Rockets get wemby he may be able to play the 4 . Now if Rockets get scoot I think goon gets shipped , scoot n jalen could be defensive liabilities so is goon but goon would be the odd man out. If rockets get scoot ship goon to the raps in a deal for scottie n trade some picks back to the Nets for claxton n some vets . Then we really cooking.
My question for you guys is what would y'all think about doing a three-team trade with OKC and the nets where OKC gives the nets our pics and we give the nets their picks back and the nets give OKC Bridges?
