Makes way more sense than the baseless speculations and armchair psychology going on around here.

  2. Rentfreelakerfan

All you have to do is use your eyes and then if those fail you… just go listen to what he said about his injury

  3. winter-r0se

nagging injury makes way more sense than claiming he’s gonna be traded lol. it’s interesting which players get that grace though… or which players injuries are believed. anyways

  4. same reason why he played like ass in 2021 as well. his lower body isn’t healthy

  5. ___FreePalestine___

It’s pretty obvious that he’s playing hurt if you have eyes

  6. jphenom5

Yeah, all of the fans that are tearing him down without realizing he’s hurt should feel bad. AD is out there playing hurt to give us a chance to make the playoffs and some people are just spreading negativity.

  7. ILackPatience

Would rather shut him down and get the surgery to get the bone spur out.

    Edit:
It could also be mental. Not going full 100% out there because he doesn’t want to reinjure the same foot.

It could be his conditioning. He was out for almost two months with little to no activity during that time and barely had a ramp up before he returned.

  8. FunHoliday563

That’s obvious. To be honest, anyone who has watched AD since his return from injury and thinks it’s ‘mental’ is mental. It’s abundantly clear that he is playing hurt as the foot injury has essentially grounded him. He has no lift, struggles to get around the court and it’s going to get worse the more load he puts on it. With injuries like this you either rest or get surgery… putting more stress on the foot isn’t the right path to take (anyone who thinks playoff basketball isn’t going to make this worse is insane).

Before anyone suggests I’m talking crap, my partner is a doctor and specialises in lower body injuries.

He should’ve had surgery. We aren’t winning this season so surely it would be better to make sure he is 100% for next season?

Saying that, I will probably get downvoted here because everyone on Reddit is apparently a fully qualified psychologist/psychiatrist and knows what AD is thinking despite likely having no connection to him whatsoever!

  9. nine8whatwhat

he’s not healthy enough to dominate

    what else is new?

  10. Beyonder-838

The way AD is playing I can totally see this. What we see is probably the frustration of being constantly injured and the emotional pain of not being able to be there for your team when they need you. That can weigh on anyone. AD has been a model citizen for the most part, so I’m going to give him a pass for now.

  11. Yes its obvious…. But he is always injured lol. We can’t count on him for the future

  12. There’s always something wrong with this dude. So frustrating

  13. Trade him in the off-season. 3 consecutive seasons or post seasons with injury. Get what you can while you can. He’ll never play a full season and at this point time to move on. He’s all world when healthy, but he’s not healthy long enough to be all world consistently. He’s been injured every season with the lakers. His first season here he had a nagging shoulder injury that was underreported but clearly affected him. The pandemic gave him a break, but he proceeded to get a heel injury in the bubble 😩. The next season he injured his groin in the playoffs. Last year he was injured. This year he’s injured after kicking someone mid air. I’ve seen the numbers about Kawhi, Zion etc and their games missed. Means nothing because those guys don’t play for the lakers.

Tl;dr Trade AD he’s always going to be injured

  14. Hazzardous1990

He is always injured, seasons just be wasted due to him being injured. It’s annoying

  15. theseustheminotaur

Only morons think its about his mentality. These guys bought into the media narrative and can’t let go no matter what. Dude is showing a really tough mentality by playing through this and still getting 20 rebounds

  16. Obvious_Acanthaceae4

Who cares. There is always something wrong with this dude and should have been trade.

  17. Current_Journalist

I like AD, but we should consider trading him this off-season. He’s always injured, and we need some continuity.

  18. AD cannot play the 5. I know all advanced metric say we’re better when he plays the 5, but his body just breaks down

  19. Buckowski66

By mid 30s he’s going to be a physical wreck. I like AD but it’s not going to end well.

  20. Gemcitylex

As previously stated, he should not be playing.

  21. BlackMasterDarkness

Story stays the same for him. Balls out early, gets hurt, plays thru injury but can’t finish the season

  22. n3moh0es

ok and what if we agree? what’s the solution? dude is always hurt when will real talks be had?

  23. havenstone

This guy is always injured, or ramping back up to come back from an injury, or playing injured, or scared to get injured again. Enough of this dude

  24. Ain’t stop him from dropping 30+ in Indiana , I swear I’ve never seen more excuses for a player being mid.

  25. HiiGuardian

Hate to say it, but bro needs traded after this season.

  26. ANBU_Black_0ps

The best ability is availability. I can’t fuck with players that can’t stay healthy.
