John Rinka (5’9) was born in Milwaukee and raised in Shorewood WI. He played for Shorewood High School (Division 2). Didn’t get much play time due to his size. He Went on to play “SG” position at Kenyon College in Ohio. He became an All Time NCAA Top 10 In scoring with no 3pt Line. He was known for his accurate jump shot and distance. He once scored 69 points in a game. No kidding. NCAA HOF.

He was drafted by The Milwaukee Bucks in 1970, In the 7th round but because the “ABA” Utilized the 3 point line first & was leery of playing at home he tried out for the “UTAH STARS” (ABA) instead.

He was “Utah Stars” final cut before the 1970 season started while The Bucks went on to win The NBA Championship in what would of been his rookie season.
