@Brooklyn Nets

KD tearing up and almost crying talking about the nets.

Someone will post the clip I’m sure, but he says he loves the fans and all the guys on the team. Not sure what other context but I just tuned it.

Edit: The clip is the link below

He also claims he was sad to see Kyries trade request and thought Brooklyn really had a chance this year.

yea i really think KD wanted to stay with Brooklyn, he just knows that another championship would not only make people forget about the “fake rings” narrative but would also comfortably put him top 10 all time.

The suns are much better suited to win a championship then the nets are post Kyrie trade. If kyrie stays I bet Kevin stays. It sucks, but I think I prefer that we traded them when their value was at its peak over having to deal with the BS while most likely never winning a championship and being stuck at square 1.

Whatever, guy choose to leave he could have stayed

  3. therealjiho

Don’t blame him, I wish him all the support, hope he balls out

  4. Downashland

Love the grind by left out the back door in the middle of the night

  5. LinuxUbuntuOS

    Man

I hope there’s a bright future ahead. We’re arguably the unluckiest team in all of sports.

  6. Infamous-Example-483

Love KD man! Keep up the great work!

  7. laflameitslit

damn he really wanted to be here with kai and build a franchise. fuck.

  8. Kwilly462

Dangit KD, now you’re making me wanna root for PHX now. Almost got me.

  9. KingofthisShit

Don’t blame him, wish him and Warren the best, although I don’t wish the Suns the best since we own their future. Kyrie on the otherhand….

  10. BLACKANTICHRIST

Love KD, hope he wins a ring and plays his last year in BK before he retires

  11. i’ll always love the time we had with 7 and how excited I was to watch him hoop every time he stepped on the court.. wish him the best in the final years of his career

  12. EddyTreeNJ

Am I a bad person for not wanting the KD Suns to win a championship? I am happy with the team now and will root for us to win a championship before the Suns.

  13. twobridges94

Shoutout to KD without him we never would’ve gotten the goat Mikal Bridges

  14. CarAlarming7682

He will naver admit it, but the Warriors winning the championship last year and the whole bus rider narrative probably messed him up.

  15. Tritivix

It always seemed obvious to me that this was just business. He ain’t getting any younger and his window to win another ring is getting smaller day by day. He didn’t come to Brooklyn to make friends and he didn’t leave because of those friends he made here. He’s just chasing a dream and I can respect that. All the best to him

  16. Will always appreciate his time here no matter how ugly it ended. He’s probably the greatest player we’ll ever see in a Net uniform. It was a pleasure to watch him on the court.

  17. Swaggyjg

We could’ve made moves during the off-season to give him an even better team wtf

  18. He was genuinely emotional reflecting back on his time with the Nets. Respect to KD, man. Wish it worked out.

  19. theRestisConfettii

He’s crying because he’s scared that half of the borough of Brooklyn hates him.

  20. Padulsky21

KD is the only one of the stars that I have a soft spot for despite him being the biggest enabler in the world. Seeing him actually show love about Brooklyn instead of trashing us like the other stars, I appreciate. A lot.

But god damn bro if you really wanted to be here you could addressed it long ago…fuck man didn’t wanna think about this shit today.

Thanks for Mikal and CamJ, win a ring in Phoenix for our new guys now.

  21. ughwhateverman

Truly wish him the best. I wish he had a better professional as a best friend, but he embraced the challenge here and was professional other than the summer trade request

  22. Doc-Spock

Man, kiss my ass. The organization did so many things to keep him happy and then he asked to be traded…twice. If he loved ‘the guys’ so much, then he probably should have done something about the numerous Irving situations.

  23. Damn…as if I wasn’t already feeling a certain type of way about him leaving.

It’s some consolation to see that he embraced and appreciated Brooklyn as much as Brooklyn embraced and appreciated him.

He’ll always be my one of my favorites to watch and root for after his tenure with us.

  24. Intrusive_ads

Some of you are too soft on KD lol. Dude is soft. Ran away the second things became tough and not only requested a trade but only to one team, an nba finals team. Idc what he has to say. If he truly loved the franchise and fans he wouldn’t run every chance he got

  25. Practical-Camera3706

Will always root for him. Loved how he always showed up and gave it his all every single game.

  26. jrtasoli

Classy, I’ll admit, but I’m not gonna root for him going forward.

He may not have been as outwardly destructive as Kyrie, but KD didn’t exactly do anything to call him out for any of his BS, nor did he really take an active role in being a leader on this team. He could’ve told Kyrie to cool it on any number of topics (vaccine misinformation, antisemitism), or stood by Harden, and just didn’t.

The best thing he did for the team was sign that extension so the Nets could recoup some assets for him. That’s it. KD’s impact on the Nets is he brought us Mikal Bridges.

As cliche as it is, I root for the front of the jersey, not the back. I didn’t care when Brook Lopez won a ring in Milwaukee, and I won’t care if KD wins one in Phoenix.

  27. Kenny_Heisman

I’m sorry but you can’t demand a trade twice and then act like you’re sad about leaving. this is what you wanted KD. dude just can’t handle not being on a superteam

  28. swervo246

This dude nick is pathetic have some face oh wait u can’t have what u never had following this man like a groupie

  29. TheBigFatToad

Really don’t get how many fans in here give Durant a free pass. We won 1 playoff series with this team, that is it. Other than that, we are just loooking back on regular seasons.

We traded away our entire future to make him happy. Got rid of DLO, got rid of levert and Allen so we can keep Deandre and acquire Harden. We cannot blame him for his injuries, but it’s worth mentioning that he did miss considerable time twice.

He was confident that him and Kyrie could get shit done, and almost wanted to run the team. Any time Kyrie went on his numerous crazy activities, not once did Durant try to bring him in and calm him down.

He was the first person that wanted out this summer, meaning he wanted to leave after our asses just got swept with both him and Kyrie healthy.

He may be the greatest player to put on the Nets jersey, but we accomplished and achieved nothing. Then, when Kyrie finally left, it was time for him to jump ship again. Wasn’t even interested in trying one more season with us.

We were supposed to do a lot with this team. It’s not KD’s fault we folded, but he is certainly one of the big pieces in our failure.

Yet the next time he comes to Barclays he will get a nice warm reception, because our franchise is so low at this point that we are contempt with regular season wins and one playoff series victory.

Yeah I don’t care about what KD has to say. He’s still one of my all-time favorite players to watch and I definitely have a soft spot for him considering his consummate professionalism during his drama-filled tenure with us. But when I hear him talking about “loving the grind in Brooklyn” I can’t help but roll my eyes. Looking back, it’s obvious he only cared about the Nets because we were his best chance at winning a ring in a “bus driver” role.

Remember when he talked in that interview back in November about how he doesn’t want his legacy to be defined by his rings, but by other parts of his career like with his mentorship of Cam Thomas or his leadership in the locker room? Well clearly that was all a fucking lie, seeing as he left his teammates and his little student Cam behind just to join another bona fide superteam when he realized he couldn’t cakewalk his way to another ring. Now when has he done that before…?

I don’t doubt for a second that his tears and sadness are real, but knowing that he was asking out within a day of the Kyrie trade devalues them significantly. He may be the greatest player to ever suit up for the Nets but he will never be the greatest Net. Frankly I hope he wins nothing with the Suns because I don’t think he deserves another cakewalk ring, and because I want good picks for us, but either way he doesn’t matter to me much anymore.

Some of these comments man. People really don’t get it. Greatness and authenticity staring then right in the face and they just want to bring up narratives and shit.
