At a private Q&A I attended with Stone, he said the plan is to spend their money this off-season on veteran help and aim to be a play-in/playoff team next year.

This only works if we hit on our top picks. It took 7 years with multiple 3 picks for the 76ers to actually land 2 that provided top end value. The rest were busts. And really, just 1 panned out if you don’t factor in Bens trade to get them harden.
So far, sadly, I’m going to be putting Jabari in the “uh oh” category. So 1 of our 2 top 3 picks is questionable and the other is incredibly inefficient, inconsistent, and lacks the basics on defense. Another potential “uh oh” and objectively jalens got a lot of growing to do to become an actual playoff leading number 1.
There’s also no telling if we land 1 through 4 in this upcoming draft. So no, this isn’t year 3 of the rebuild. It’s really year 2 with another 4 years after to see what these kids have.
Just to say we’re gonna magically turn it around once we owe picks to OKC is “stop the steal” levels of hopium.
These kids aren’t very good right now and haven’t developed appropriately. Silas hasn’t instilled good habits, so next year is really year 1 of actual development and a wasted season trying to break and reform bad habits learned since 2021.
The idea that a top 4 pick and some low level vets are going to catapult this team into the play-in (currently thunder and WARRIORS) is just plain unreasonable. These guys are the worst team in the nba, they’ve not shown good habits, no growth on defense, no offense to react with, can’t hit 3s, they don’t play as a team, and if you think a magical FA veteran acquisition and another 19 year old rookie is gonna add 30 wins to our total, I don’t know what to tell ya.
Crazy how people don’t understand this. We aren’t supposed to win this year.
