Jaylen Brown on 76ers fans: It got a little disrespectful. Before the game, we were entering the arena there was people saying, ‘I hope you tear your ACL.’

Not so great to see this. Philly fans have a reputation but you’d think wishing injury on another player would be below them

I know people are gonna hate on Philly fans but there are bad apples in every fan base.

Dipshit who said it is probably more likely to be one of the 200,000 Americans who tear their ACL every year, just by walking to his car

  3. strongr_togethr

They’re not beating Boston in 7 game series and those fans know that

  4. I think we can just admit Boston/Toronto/Philly are all toxic fanbases now lmao

  5. somewhatdecentlawyer

I don’t believe this. Philly fans can’t even spell ACL.

  6. Stunning_Ad_7062

I wish the NBA would allow players to taunt and trash talk a little but fans need to keep it respectful like they say out of pocket shit all the time

I mean, Philly fans are usually saying “I hope your team plane crashes”, so hoping someone tears their ACL seems like a step in the right direction.

I love these threads. Fans from other cities getting their shots in at another team they dislike based off a select few bad apples, so they can feel superior in some way

  9. Is he sure the guy isn’t also an injury’s fan

  10. It’s not classy, but a random rival fan saying it certainly isn’t newsworthy.

  11. reddit-acct54321

That’s pretty mild…did he wish for world peace too?

  12. riceybois

everyone in this thread acting holier than thou as if not all fanbases are toxic in some way or another

  13. Listen, I’m not trying to justify the 76ers or even condone what the fans said, but that seems pretty soft insults lol.

Fucked up, but as a soccer fan I’d say this is tame as hell

  15. TheOleTrazzleDazzle

Maybe he meant, “Break a leg out there.”

Babe wake up, new way to feel morally superior to Philly fans just dropped

  17. PossiblyCapable24

who the fuck would ever be surprised by this lol

This has been said by someone from every fanbase from any era from any sport. You can find this guy for any team. Not really representative of anything other than showing that the lower end of the human spectrum still and will always exist everywhere.

Breaking news: a fanbase has a few shitty fans!

Tbh I’ve heard shit like this in other arenas. Been to a Nuggets game where a few fans were calling for Hayward to break his ankle again.

Much as I want to say it’s just Sixers fans, there are crazy people everywhere.

Damn, the way people are talking in this thread you’d think they chanted a racial slur at him. And its Jaylen Brown to boot jesus people

Mans soft as hell if that is his threshold…… We had a few hundred drunks heckle Durant before we knew he tore his achilles and all Toronto fans were labeled goons in 2019…..

  23. threeangelo

I was also at the game. Overheard someone saying he was gonna burn their crops, poison their water supply, and deliver a plague onto their houses.

  24. shinyshellos

It’s deff not nice… but geez, ive been told so much worse online. Like, get thicker skin mr. millionaire

  25. BigBoodles

The thing I don’t get about Philly is that they seem to relish in being trash fans. There’s no attempt to change. They fully recognize how awful they are and embrace it. That’s the worst part.

“I’m fine with antisemitism, but I draw the line at taunts about basketball injuries”
